Two main reasons I chose to attend Schreiner University were the campus size and finance issues. For starters, being in a small retirement town like Kerrville, Texas, the class size isn't at all overwhelming, only being around 2,250 students. This made my experience a lot easier to digest, as it left a lot more time for personal studying and made it easier to communicate with professors and students. Already living in Kerrville, being a commuter also helped with the cost, of not having to pay for housing and other on-campus fees.
The campus itself is gorgeous, sitting on over 200 acres with lots of open green spaces and hiking trails through the Texas Hill Country. The architecture of the historic buildings is lovely and gives the campus a quaint, collegiate feel. The smaller size allows students to get involved in many campus organizations, clubs, and intramural sports teams. The professors at Schreiner truly care about their students and are dedicated to helping them succeed. Class sizes tend to be small, so students receive a lot of individual attention and support from professors, advisors, and staff. This makes it an ideal place for students who want more of a personalized college experience. The cost of attendance is reasonable for a private university. Combined with the smaller class sizes and more individualized instruction, students likely get a lot of value for their tuition dollars at Schreiner. Overall, Schreiner seems like a great option for students who want a more intimate college experience set on a beautiful campus. The smaller size, committed professors, and reasonable cost make it appealing, though the more limited selection of degrees could be a drawback for some students. But for those who prioritize personalized instruction and a tight-knit campus community in a scenic setting, Schreiner University appears to have a lot to offer.
Schreiner University is a place for growth and a great place to do it. It has so many surrounding beautiful experiences to have; outdoor camps, San Antonio is nearby, Fredericksburg, and the river to float down when you aren't in classes. Schreiner is a small, close-knit community that has many professors that know you on a first-name basis and will answer any questions you have. They notice when you aren't in class and really, truly care about you and your education. Schreiner offers more than just learning, but gives opportunities to unite with others through diverse groups; sororities, fraternities, teams, ministry groups, and more. It's a great place to go if you don't want to get lost in the crowd of faces in a large university.
Schreiner University is a beautiful college located in the hill country of Texas. Everywhere you look there are different colored trees and deer. The professors are willing to help and great at communicating and promoting their program. The students are very involved with the school. I would say most students are in some type of program. Walking on campus, you just feel safe. It has a safe, relaxing feel. You feel like you are at home. The school actually cares about the students and well-being, and that's why I chose Schreiner University.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Schreiner University is 90%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
Learning how to be independent can be scarey sometimes, but it can also be fun. Keep a positive outlook on everything you do whether it's making a quick desicion such as, "Do I really have enough money to spend on coffee right now?" or even bigger desicions such as, "What should I major in?" and " What do I want to do with my life?" Take life a day at a time and don't stress yourself out. Everything will come together in the end, but in the meantime continue to work hard and do what you love. Once you discover what you love to do, do it! And show others why it's so great! If you love to paint, paint an amazing mural for the world to see. We were all created to learn and grow together and to share our talents and passions with one another. Keep believing in yourself and in what you love to do, even if no one else does; because you will make a difference and impact someone someday. Growing as a person indepedently and learning how to help and work with others will make you successful in any college career.
It is far away from the city of Dallas, which is where I live; 5 hours to be exact.
Schreiner is not for intolerant, or mean-spirited people.
I believe that the best thing at Schreiner Univeristy that I have personally experinced is the social connections that are made across our small campus. Every student feels like they have a place amongst the others because we are all viewed at as individuals, not as specific ID numbers walking around. The connections between the students are powerful bonds of friendship, fun, and teamwork. The connections between the teachers and students are the best that any college can offer. If a student has trouble in a subject, a teacher will do anything in their power for that student to succeed.
The students of my school are very open minded.
Goal oriented students with potentially bright futures.
Their was nothing particularly unique, Schreiner was a four year university in my town. Having two young girls I wanted to stay close to them while getting a real degree from a university.
To be totally honest with you I already knew what i needed to know. When you go for orientation they really let you know pretty much everything you will need to get throgh your first year. It's really great!!
someone who likes the slower "smell the flowers" pace of life. someone who just needs to be able to enjoy the campus when they need it and also be able to go to ten miles away and feel like they are in the middle of nowhere. someone who wants to be their name, not a number.
13:1 student/teacher ratio.
They can not seem to keep professors for an extended period of time.
academics
Schreiner U is a growing school with enrollment closer to 1,300 and a new MBA program. The school offers great student resources ranging from academic tutoring to off campus recreational equipment such as kayaks (for use on the local Guadalupe River), etc... An online option beyond a Master's in education would be nice. A lower tuition would be nice too.
