What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

I would consider the online portion of seminole state to be the worst only because it is not fully developed in my opinion. Also I wish they had a BA for psychology or even a program for art therapy.

It is a pretty good school, I like the small class sizes. The teachers are usually very easy to meet up with for a conference. The library is a great resource that is always available to the students on campus. The sanford campus is my favorite campus that they have.

Seminole State College is a great college so far. All of my professors are there to help me with anything I need. The food on campus is decent, and all of my professors provide office hours. There is no on-campus housing, which is fine because it's a local community college. This is my first year in college so I was nervous, and everyone here made me feel comfortable. The only drawback I would say is that sometimes the financial aid office doesn't get back to when you email them.

SSC is an amazing college! The staff and professors are friendly and are always there to help you. There is a super diverse community here that includes all ethnic and religious backgrounds that come here, both young and old. Everyone is welcomed with a friendly smile no matter who you are or where you come from. Plus there are four campuses that you can go to and the schedules are flexible and the class size is like your high school class room, so it's not a rough transition and the education your are paying for is the best and personalized.

Even though I've been a student at Seminole State College of Florida for a year, I have loved every moment of it. It's such an amazing and easy transition from high school to college and they definitely prepare you for the pursuit of higher education. Everyone from the classmates to the faculty staff are very friendly and offer great help whatever it may be. The reason I was at the college for a year was because of how advanced I was thanks to their great opportunities. Aside from doing AP classes in high school, they were able to accept passing AP scores as well as career pathways certificates which allowed me to get ahead more since those scores allowed me to bypass classes. But the big majority was their Dual Enrollment Program where as a senior in high school I was able to take college classes practically free since the school was the one who paid for them. Through this I was able to take 4 classes total making me be a semester ahead already while also saving a lot of money. With this program along with the staff's generous help, how close to home their campuses are, and the affordability of tuition, Seminole State College is a college I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone who lives nearby and wants an easy transition from high school to college while also saving a lot of money and taking up on their great opportunities like their Dual Enrollment program and their Direct Connect to UCF Program which allows you to be accepted and transfer successfully to the University of Central Florida.

My experience at Seminole State has been truly wonderful. I have really liked my professors. The overall classroom size is small and I feel like they are really dedicated not only to the subjects they teach but also to being available to the students. Multiple professors I've had have been every inspiring and encouraged me to continue towards my goals. I feel I would have been at a disadvantage had I not attended Seminole State not only for the proximity to home and the low cost but because of the great staff. Even talking to guidance councilors success specialists etc does not cause the pain that it can be but rather seamless. I am recommending Seminole State to all of my friends.

I attended Seminole State College where I completed an AA degree, and then transferred to a four year university to pursue a bachelor's. The honors program, small class sizes, and readily accessible professors are the features that shine the brightest at Seminole State College. These combine to create a personal experience that you rarely find at larger educational institutions. However, this experience can only take you so far, as the academic standards at Seminole State are noticeably lower than those of a majority of universities. Professors at the school too often allow students to get by with superficial knowledge, rather than pushing the class to put in the effort required to delve more deeply into the material. This is what you are expected to do at a university, and for that reason I don't believe Seminole State adequately prepares students for the transition to come (if they wish to transfer to a four year school).

The school itself is a good school, they do a good job keeping good professors, and eventually weeding out the bad ones. They are on rate my professor, so it easy to tell if your class will be a good one or not. As far as clubs go, we have clubs for virtually any interest, from fishing all the way to under water basket weaving. The campuses are rather far apart so its hard to get between them, but they are about thirty minutes apart. it is a very safe school. it is common to see the security guards They have a very easy direct connect program to UCF, so I would highly recommend going here and using their direct connect to UCF.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

The Altamonte Campus is practically around everything. 12 Minutes away from a mall, across the street from Publix, down the road from Walmart, Target, Golden Coral, McDonalds, Backyard Burger, and Panera. Local gyms around as well, Anytime is across the street, Planet Fitness is down the road next to Walmart, and my own Youfit is 8 minutes away. After class it's not far to go to the gym afterwards. Classes have really flexible times, the professors, most of them, are amazing. The front desk is great. Very very clean sanitary place. All in one building which I love very much so. Only thing they need to work on is the parking lot. There's such an issue with parking other than that, its all good.
