I, personally, am very thankful of SCC. I did not attend college right after high school because I needed space from traditional schooling and time to work on myself. In January of 2019, three years after finishing high school, I started to think about my college journey. I did not want to go to a four-year, and instead heard about the transferring process. I enrolled in Shoreline CC in April of that year and I have enjoyed it ever since. I love that I can go at my own pace and work in the career area that I want. The campus is great, the administration is great, and the people are thoughtful.

Shoreline is a great place to start out your college career. It is a great positive environment to meet new people and learn more about yourself. There are many inspirational professors that are readily available to engage with their students in and out of class.

Song Mei

There are several good professors there. The more students participate in class and take time to ask questions or connect with professors outside of class, the happier they will be. Most of them are very fair in grading and teaching style. There are definitely a few that I didn't like. Overall, a great school. People are usually kind and open, or at least polite. The other staff are helpful. There are great resources available there if students are willing to reach out for them.

Joanna Glee

It's a great community college. All the staff are helpful and so are most of the teachers. Help is easily accessible and they really wanted the students to do well academically. Overall, the teachers that I have are very understanding as long as you do well and try your best in your classes. A lot of help and resources are easily accessible!

Shoreline Community College FAQS

  1. What is the Acceptance Rate at Shoreline Community College?

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Shoreline Community College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Taking a quarter off to travel was a very good idea. I learned a lot about myself and felt much more ready for college life after traveling. Make sure you know what life at the college will be like before you enroll there. Be careful about 4 year universities, you can do the first two years at a community college for a lot cheaper. Talk to advisors! They are there to help you and they can be a lot more helpful than you think. Don't try to do things on your own when there are perfectly good people getting paid to help you. Stay confident! It's just school.

  3. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

For me, the worst thing about my school is the commute. Shoreline is mainly a commuter school, so I have to drive awhile to get there. Also, parking is terrible. Academic wise, I love shoreline and have no complaints. Like any school it has its funding issues, but that is understandable.
