Simmons College is incredibly diverse. There are an array of races, socio-econimic statuses, LGBTQ and more. Because the school is so diverse, students are very welcoming towards each other. The environment feels incredibly safe. I truly feel that no student would feel out of place at Simmons College. Most students wear normal everyday clothes, ranging from sweatpants to dressy-wear. It depends on what classes they have or what projects are going on. Students at Simmons College are the most politically aware women I've ever met. They are active and participate in many political events in the area. During the most recent Presidential Election, students on campus were adamant about getting their voices heard on topics they felt were important for themselves, as well as women. This is a generally liberal school.

Simmons College is very diverse! There are people of different color, race, religion, and sexual orientation. Student are very politically aware. There are clubs for this, and some students have been partaking in Occupy Boston. Simmons is very politically active. I don't think there is a single student who would feel out of place at this school. There is so much to offer and so many different types of people who are involved in clubs, sports, and other general activities that it would be hard to not find your niche.

From my perspective, students that I have met during my almost two years of Simmons College are kind, motivated, and open-minded students. Many students are collaborative students, meaning they like to work with other students to get the best experience they can out of class. Students in my nursing classes are very inquisitive. They are not afraid to ask the professors questions, whether they are simple or difficult questions.

There are a variety of Simmons students! Some wear sweatpants to class every day, others dress up. Some party every weekend, others stay in and study. There are "rich kids" but there are also students who come from very little. There are no cliques based on these groups either. There are white students involved with the Black Student Organization and everyone is just kind of open and accepting. Everyone has their own opinion and you will definitely find some strong ones. But for the most part students are active, aware, and stand up for what they believe in.
