Simmons College Top Questions

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Meg

The best thing about this school is the tight-knit community feel! With about 2,000 undergraduate students, Simmons College is the perfect size for people who like small schools, and people who like larger ones, as there are many opportunities to meet kids at surrounding colleges. When I tell friends and family that I go to Simmons College, they smile and are extremely impressed! They always seem to know someone who previously attended, and are happy that I also attend. I spend most of my time on the academic campus. I'm either in class or doing homework during the day. There are always friends around to take breaks, study, and eat lunch with. Definitely college town!!!

The best thing about Simmons College is the very diverse group of women who come from all over the United States as well as other parts of the world. It is amazing how welcoming of an environment Simmons has! Simmons' size is just right. With 2,000 undergraduates attending, it feels like the perfect fit when you're smack-dab in the middle of the city. The resident campus has many trees, picnik tables, and grassy areas for student to enjoy in the middle of the suburban jungle. Most people don't know about Simmons College! But when they hear it is in Boton, they ALWAYS say "You must never get bored!" and they're absolutely right. There is so much to do around Simmons with lots of stores, schools, and places to eat nearby.

My overall opinion of this school is it is a great school. I am in the nursing program at Simmons College. It is quite a challenge, but it motivates me to work hard for what I want. People are friendly. Professors are knowledgeable and honest people. The campus is small and close-knitted.

The best thing about Simmons is its location! Going to college in Boston is just a great experience. There are a lot of job and internship opportunities in Boston. Simmons is part of the Colleges of the Fenway, which is a consortium of 6 schools in the Fenway area. Being part of the COF is a huge advantage for students. We can cross register to other schools to take classes. (A lot of friends have taken a dance class at emmanuel for an easy a!). We also do tons of COF events like cookouts, ski trips, and a spring carnival. I think Simmons is the perfect size. It has small class sizes (20-25 average) but is located in a huge college town. So you get the best of both worlds. Simmons is all about career preparation and getting you ready for the real world. The professors are amazing and are really helpful and encouraging. The biggest complaint from students is the dining hall... which isn't bad at all if you get creative. I mean who wants to eat pasta and pizza every night? The food is not that bad at all, but we need something to complain about! The dining staff is awesome, and we have STARBUCKS on campus... which is included in our meal plan :)

My overall opinion of Simmons is that it's a great place to learn, make long lasting friendships, and prepare for whatever it is you want to do in life. Being in the city of Boston opens up so many opportunities that enrich our education even further. I am so happy to chose to come here and I don't think I'd be where I am today if I went to a different school.
