There are not many opportunities to have a work study job on/off campus.
The cost of parking per semester.
The most frustrating aspect of Simmons College is the fact that it is a women's college. I love my classmates and the girls are extrodinary however, it would be nice for a change to have male interaction other than those with your male professors. The atmosphere would be less cut-throat in the class rooms and more relaxed.
The most frustrating thing is how fast they want your money. They expect you to pay your college bill in a short manner of time which is hard for parents/students in this struggling economy.
That more students don't go to events planned by the Simmons student organizations.
The most frustrating thing about Simmons College right now is the fear of budget cuts. Every college is tight on money, and Simmons is no exception. While Simmons is trying very hard to minimize the impact on the students there are inevitably decisions that impact student life. One of the best things about Simmons are the small class sizes, however, there is talk about the average class size being increased along with course cuts. Although this is frustrating, Simmons is doing a great job of communicating decisions with the students and of being very conscious of the impact on students.
I would have to say the cost of the school is very frustrating. Tuition is very expensive and not all people qualify for certain scholarships or financial aids. Parking is also very frustrating. Because Simmons College is located in Boston, parking is minimal and expensive.
The most frustrating thing about Simmons is the Modes of Inquiry and the Multicultural Courses that a freshwoman must take. Essentially, they were made so that students would have a liberal arts background after attending, which isn't a bad idea. However, because of it students are obligated to complete 8 extra classes in topics they aren't enthused about on top of rigorous courses for their majors, which makes it hard to make schedules the way they want them and get degrees finished on time.
The dining halls have very unreasonable hours
Very liberal, a lot of people are not very open to people who have different opinions then them. the dorms are old and dirty and need to be updated. for the amount we pay to go to Simmons they should have better dorms with more room, and a better dining hall and meal plan.
How simmons always puts a huge emphasis on being okay with people's sexual orientation. But they never seem to tell the people who associate themselves with the LGBT community, to included heterosexual peers. They almost baby the people who associate themselves with the LGBT community.
The most frustrating thing about Simmons College is the lack of friendliness among the student population.
Many of my peers are lacking in social and self knowledge. Students aren't pushed to participate in class, and it becomes one or two students in every class who are the only speakers all semester.
it's expensive!
I came to Simmons expecting a school filled with women who really wanted to learn and improve themselves. I found a school filled with girls from Rhode Island and Connecticut, a little spoiled and slightly ignorant.
Sometimes the people that work in the offices are stupid and give you the run around. Also the food is absolutely disgusting.
