What's unique about your campus?

Emily

Simmons College is a strong academic institution that encourages it's students to become strong, confident women in today's world. This school allows students to become the best they can be, while opening doors to their intended fields and helping them acheive career goals. It is a very nurturing environment, allowing students to find and reach their best potential.

My school is an all-women's college and although I was unsure of this situation at first, I find this environment of just one sex to be very welcoming, in certain aspects and allows all students, whether feminists or aware or not, to come together and fight back against oppressive actions that occur in our society today. It also allows us to create a sorority of our own, without constant partying and binge drinking. Rather, bonds of sisterhood are created, allowing us to get through life and our college career with amazing support.

Laura

I think the best thing about Simmons College is the intimate relationships students are able to form with the professors. The classes are small and engaging, and the professors all clearly want to be here and are committed to their student's learning and success. They are also all passionate about their field.

Stephni

The location.....everything you could want is nearby.

Maile

because my school is small, we get attention from the professors that at a bigger school you wouldn't. The professors know your name and want to help you succeed!

Kate

The best thing about Simmons College is the amount of social awareness. The school is very geared toward community service and community based learning. It is fair to estimate that at least one class that any student takes despite their chosen major will require at least 15 hours of community service during their four year education. There is an office to set students up with community service projects or community based learning placements.

Caitlin

The faculty is amazing. You learn alot because they dedicate themselves to your understanding of the material. They also care about you as a person. When my father got ill and passed away last year, I received nothing but support from all my teachers and the dean of student life. They made sure that I could suceed even when things were tough for me. I recently met with my advisor and she expressed how she was happy to see me smiling around campus again. The faculty here really becomes another family for you.

Ruta

It is a safe and supportive environment where everyone can learn and grow. The academic environment and professors here are very encouraging and supportive. There is a strong sense of community.

Melissa

It's a community in the middle of a busy city that still manages to teach me what I need to know. I like the togetherness of the campus, school, teachers, and administrators. I also like that I'm getting an education from highly learned professors who want to be friends/mentors rather than just stuffy know-it-alls. I like that I can escape into Boston when I need a break from studying, but I always return to a place that feels like home. I also really like that it's an all girls school!

Jamie

The small classrooms, the relationships students form with professors, and the small, all women community

Brittany

Small class sizes; it allowed for personal faculty/student relationships and lots of academic attention when necessary.

Maggie

The emphasis on making the students and school better.

Kaitlin

THe professors are amazing. They are always there and really want the students to succeed. They are completely accessible, I have most of my professors home and cell phone numbers, and they're always willing to meet before or after class to go over things. They are truly amazing.
