When I was looking at Skidmore the major stereotype I came across was that of the rich, ultra-liberal white kid who smoked a lot of pot.

That we are liberal hippies

The stereotypes about Skidmore students is that we're a bunch of wealthy art student stoner hippies.

Smokemore, Drinkmore, Sexmore, Skidmore. Everybody is an artsy music/theatre smoking person or a buisness/jock drinking person. If you don't smoke cigarettes before skidmore...well more than 1/3 of those people start before thanksgiving break. More after that. Everybody smokes weed.

Party school with a lot of art students

Total stoners, environmentally conscious, quirky, work-hard-party-hard.

I think the main stereotype of Skidmore is that it is largely made up of liberal, pseudo-hippie artsy kids. As an institution, Skidmore is known for its creative approaches to just about everything, with an academically competitive atmosphere. It is thought of as politically conscious yet laidback and very accepting.

Alot of people think that Skidmore is "reefer mad" (Princeton Review put us in the top ten for "reefer madness" a couple of years ago, but really it's not true. I mean, at any college, there is gonna be weed, but it's not the core element of Skidmore. Another generalization about Skidmore students is that they are artsy. This is partly true; alot of students are art majors BUT! few are stereotypical "spacey" aloof artists. Another stereotype is that there are alot of gay boys at Skidmore. This is true. haha

Artsy, smoke, rich, snobby

All the kids are rich, snobby, smoke pot and drink from Wednesday to early Monday. Most of the guys are gay, taken, or really messed up.

Skidmore students are aloof and rich buying their way past the hardships a typical student must endure. They live on a constant race track between Saratoga Springs and daddy's apartment in New York City. Study is more of a surprising chore than the purpose in many Skiddies education.

I honestly don't know yet. But I've heard about discrimination amongst groups.
