It is a wonderful school! Anyone who is looking for a nice, small, community college should look no further! The people that attend the school are friendly, and the professors are all very helpful and approachable. The tutors are kind and always there to help you when you need it as well.
This college has a nice, clean campus with plenty of parking. It also has good instructors who make themselves available outside of the classroom. Somerset is not exactly a "college town" because SCC is just a community college so there aren't a lot of college-related venues outside of the campus.
They are determined to have you on the right path and strive for you to do what you are wanting to do, i absolutely love everything about this college, i love going to class even if it is 8:00 AM. I honestly cannot wait to start a new path with my job!
I ha

I did't actually make it to my senior year, in high school. I dropped out and received my G.E.D. a year before I would have graduated. So, I would go back even farther, so I could talk myself into staying i n school, and then continuing on to college immediately afterward.
The best thing about Somerset Community College is the personal attention one gets from attending a community college verses a University. The classrooms are smaller making them more personal. The teachers are more readily accessible in a smaller classroom setting then a larger one. In my classroom everyone knows everyone?s names and is comfortable asking questions. The teachers provide a very relaxed atmosphere that makes me feel comfortable to use my individual style of learning. I have never had to wait over 24 hours on a response to any question.
It a very good school . It is up to standards ith every thing
I like Somerset Community College because of the fact that it is in my community and everyone there is just wonderful. All of the staff has been great and the tuition is in a normal price range.
I wish that I had known that for each class, there are many options for places to purchase textbooks. Rather than pay full price for textbooks, one can be resourceful and share books with a study partner, purchase used books, check out library books and other options that would save on college expenses. I also wish I had known that a college experience is about taking courses that enhance knowledge not just fulfill the requirements towards a specific major. The process of learning can lead to lifelong friendships and obtaining knowledge of a variety of areas.
The worst thing about Somerset Community College is the way financial aid refunds are handled. All leftover funds are now sent to students via a 'debit card' which can charge the student unnecessary fees if not used very carefully.
The most frustrating thing about school is the fact that not all courses are offered each term. This requires a great deal of juggling to make sure that courses are signed up for depending on the term they are offered, and that the required preliminary classes are completed prior to the deadlines. Not only do you have to pay attention to days and times a course is offered, but also to when it is offered again in case you are unable to register for a particular course needed.
My classmates are goal oriented!
What I brag about most when I tell my friends about my school is my adviser. My adviser is very helpful and listens to my wants and needs. My goals set before me and I choose what is best for me considering I am a full time mother and full time state registered nursing assistant. My adviser helps me in finding the classes that I need and works my classes into my everyday life so that I may have time to provide for my family and be there for my family which is very important to me.
