A person who is focused on getting a good education is the type of person who should go to this school. They have to be serious about engineering, and willing to put in a lot of work to succeed here. If they are looking to party and have a good time, I would tell them to look elsewhere because this school is very focused on academics. There are multiple clubs and organizations for someone to choose. From the nerf club to the hockey club, there is nearly something for everyone. All you have to do is say you're interested.
Anyone who wants to attend this school needs to be prepared to work hard, the classes aren't easy. There a lot of fun things to do on campus so an outgoing person would really enjoy this school. This is not a party school, however we still have an awful lot of fun, good clean fun people are more than welcome. This school is for people wishing to attain an engineering degree of one kind or another and has a great job placement rate so someone who wants that, this is the place to go.

The kind of person that should attend South Dakota School of Mines & Technology should be someone who is ready to stride for what they want in life, no matter how difficult it's going to be. They have to be willing to keep going and fight through the hard times to be successful at this school.
The type of person that should attend this school is one that remains active in their academia, their community and in their social life. You are a proven hardworker -- both physically and mentally -- if you strive for the best in each of the previously listed terms of success. I am not one to discourage; however, if you are one of irresponsibility, this school should not be your top choice.
Those who value determination, intelligence, and hardwork should definitely check out South Dakota School of Mines. Also, one would fit in comfortably if he or she has a more conservative background, enjoys having fun outdoors, values both team work and independence, and wants a guaranteed job placement after completing his or her degree.
