Honestly, this is good college for older people who are returning back to college to finish a degree because the classes are pretty easy for the most part. But for younger students who actually are trying to learn and better themselves to go on to jobs or to transfer colleges, I would not recommend this college. The professors only want to help while you're in class and pretty do whatever they want the rest of the time. I've observed in my two years at this college that they pretty much hire any professors or teachers who weren't successful at other colleges. They aren't all bad, if it weren't for my accounting teacher at South Georgia, I never would've figured out my love accounting and finance and figured out what I wanted to do. But they seriously need to learn to be there and be more helpful to their students, because it's literally like pulling their teeth just to ask them a question outside of class time and they never stick to office hours, and I've dealt with this for two years with multiple professors and office workers. It's beyond ridiculous and no one wants to help you to succeed!
Amazing school! Local and small. Everyone is very friendly. The school is hardly ever crowded and not very busy. The town around the campus is a small friendly town with a variety of shops and restaurants. The staff at SGSC are all very friendly and inviting.
I'm apart of the entry program on Valdosta State University campus. I love the college and campus. The professors are professional the only thing I dislike about it is the freshman dorms. They could have been better. I like the fact that there's mutiple food places on campus to eat at so you should never be hungry.
In my opinion, South Georgia College is a great way to transition from high school to a higher education. They have a great dual enrollment program for high school students. I did the program my junior and senior year of high school and it put myself a year ahead. When I graduated high school in May 2016, I already had over 30 hours of college credit. So when I began SGC fall 2016 semester, I began as a sophomore instead of a freshmen. I am now in my spring 2017 semester and I will be graduating in May of 2017 with my Associates of Arts in Political Science. South Georgia has exceeded my expectations for my education. In fall 2016, I made the Dean's List with a 3.7 GPA with 16 hours of classes. I would definitely recommend this College for those who are weary about big college-town universities

I wish I would have made better & quick chocies as far as school back then from what I know now...
Being a black man in my mid 20's, anybody can always can back to college, if you decide not to go right after high school. But when you do, even if your not sure what you want to major in, still give it a shot & see how you can handle it, what do you have to lose?
My school will help you in any way they can possibly help you. There are free tutoring programs, a study hall, as well as excellent professors willing to do everything in their power to make sure you understand your studies and help you to succeed.
Be prepared t owork hard either online or in the class. Someone that is not motivated sgould not attend this college.
Nothing! I absolutely loved my classes and the professors were very friendly.
My college is a trict, hard working school that has benefits within the system. I can only speak for myself when I say that attending SGC has it's advantages & disadvantages.
