10 Students rated South Suburban College
Piece of trash school. Uneducated teachers that have no business teaching 4 year olds. The school is dirty and rundown. They have what I guess they call a cafeteria, it’s absolutely disgusting. Very unprofessional administrators. Little or no follow up when trying to get information/answers.
South Suburban College gives extremely gracious amounts of funding to students through grants and scholarships! It also has a great honors program with honor specific clubs and events. It's a large enough campus also with an amazing basketball team that hardly ever loses. The students can make the place a real drag, looking to hookup with each other or smoke rather than pay attention in class and participate in events. Still, major specific courses such as film appreciation are filled with truly passionate, cool students!
It's a great school to attend, one because it is very affordable. The cost to go to this school won't leave students in any debt. Furthermore, the school offers a variety of scholarships for students to apply for that may help financially. Also the teachers and staff members are very great at being involved with their students and wanting them to succeed in the class. They have office hours that are convenient for the students. The school also has many activities for students to take part in. I am in Phi Theta Kappa so I am able to meet a variety of different students at my college that have the same determination to do their best. Overall, South Suburban College is a great community college to study at.
It is a school that most people are trying to get out of. The best part about it is that it's cheap. Other than that there's not much to it. It looks like a jail, most students dont care and drop a lot of classes. Some teacher dont care as well. I have made lifelong friends here but I dont think it prepared me for the university I'm going too. They also dumb down some classes because most people there have a 2.0 GPA.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for South Suburban College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
I would tell myself that knowledge conquors all. You have the right to think, don't think about it just do it.
My classmates are welling to learn, if the teachers are welling to teach. The students pay attention to what they teacher is talking about and they have the urge to learn not matter how difficult it may turn out to be.
I think my school is best known for its affordable education.
Currently, the school is undergoing a transition of programs; such as establishing new fields of study in Radiology and require more professors and compreable equipment.

The time slots for classes, and the location of the school.
I wish I had known more about the scholarships when I first arrived.
South Suburban College, (SSC), is a great environment for students who are undecided for their career, are going to school and working to pay for tuition, or are returning to college to pursue a different career path. Many people give community colleges a bad reputation by saying that it technically isn't "college", and is much easier than a four-year university. Honestly, I think that it is just the opposite. The students in community colleges most likely have other responsibilities as well as pursuing an education. In my opinion SSC is full of, hardworking, focused, and determined students
Well to be honest, I do not brag about my school. I am not ashamed to say I go there even though it is a community college. I just tell them what it is like there and how I just do what I am supposed to do. I do my homework, research papers, quizzes, and tests and often finish early or on time.
I love my school and teachers, it is near my house so it makes it easy to get there.
My school is a community college the encompass a large variety of students from diverse backgrounds; which includes, life learners, new high school graduates, professor's seeking additional training, first time professionals, and elementary teachers finishing their certification as well as students matriculating through the Registered Nurse Program. It's a school supported by community businesses and the township and other financial contributors.
The most frustrating thing about South Suburban College, for me personally, has been the counseling office. On one occasion, I visited the counseling office desk twice and called at least three times before the desired appointment was made. Visits to the counseling office may be required when it seems unnecessary, for transcript verification procedures or the like. Sometimes, when it is time for my appointment to begin, the counselors are not prepared and disregard my time while finishing personal conversations or other unrelated tasks.
