Over estimates its value as a school and its services, though it is still good.
Always go to class because one day missed could be one letter grade drop. Study, study and study. Know your chapters and get familiar with the material needed to succeed academically. Get to know your professors and your librarians. These authoritative and academically successful people will be your greatest assets to better grades. Find your sweet spot in your library. A designated area for studying can help eleminate distractions and improve your grade results.
It is very expensive but very worth it.
Nursery for the entitled offspring of the wealthy.
SMU is a wonderful school where students are extremely involved in campus life.
SMU is your typical preppy well-manicured college. The grass is green all year round and all of the red-brick buildings match. The buildings that don't match are brand new and cream colored with the look of some super important government building. At the center of campus in the flag pole, with Dallas Hall's giant pillars and grand steps in the background. Also, we have lots of fountains.
Mid size Campus, really green grass, people from all around the world and different majors, very helpful people, buildings of all shapes and sizes with some history to them and a lot more would describe the wonderful campus!
It looks very traditional and colonial at first sight. It is usually light up at nights and there are many students walking around campus. It is green everywhere you look. We have a boulevard in the middle where w celebrate our football games, and other events during the year. The buildings are traditional but still very modern in the inside.

Great academics, beautiful campus, pretty people
An expensive private school that offers a first class education and challenging courses in business, art, law, science, and engineering.
Lovely campus surrounded by an equally-appealing neighborhood occupied mostly by upper-middle class to upper class residents. If the school can learn to streamline its departments more effectively, this would TRULY be a uniquely wonderful college experience.
Southern Methodist University is a school that has a wondeful and accomodating staff, who take their time to make students feel at home and connected with each other and the community, as well as brilliant teachers, who are genuinely interested in helping their students succeed in their studies.
SMU has the best professors I have ever known of in addition to its very pretty campus with all the grass and trees, yet, old looking compacted with up to date technical supports class rooms.
SMU offers its students everything from professors who are experts in thier fields, a plethora of activities and organizations to become involved in, access to anything from counceling to supplies for studies, to a creative environment full of chances to meet with many students of different backgrounds and interests.
Everything it's reputation says, both the good and bad.
A liberal school with conservative values.
Rich, white and fond of the booze.
Eh, SMU is pretty much good if you're rich & pretty, the rest of us have to find our own niches to survive. Now, there are a good amount of niches, but I think I or students like me would've done/would do better at schools that are a little less focused on being WASPs and money and a little more focused on everyone's health, happiness, etc.
The people are wealthy, anglo-saxon, conservative girls and boys with little appreciation for things outside of their realm who attend a university with a lot of potential.
