Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.

My school is awesome, the professors are very friendly and I feel like I can call them, email them, or talk to them at any time and there is always something going on here meaning clubs and organizations and events.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

The advice I would give to parents and mostly students about finding the right college is to pick one that you feel the most comfortable at. When you walk on to the campus for the first time you need to be able to see your self there and if you don't then it might not be right for you. Also, sit in a classroom and see if the size and the way the professor teaches is what you want. You also want to tour the campus while school is in session so you can get a feel for how big the school is. The advice I would give to making the most out of your college experience is homework and studying comes first. When you first enter college you are going to want to hang out with your friends all the time and you'll forget about homework. That's what happened to me. Last year I always put my homework to the last minute and chose to be with my friends all the time. I came very close to failing out so this year I have learned not to leave my room until all homework is done.

What kind of person should attend this school?

A person who is very friendly and can get along with most people should go here, I feel like I am at home here every one knows every one and its very comfortable like that.

Start as early as possible, look for and apply for any scholarships, grants etc. Also, always fill your FAFSA out before Jan 31st. for the following fall.

Describe your favorite campus traditions.

Their continuing education programs that outreach into Maine and other parts of the state of New Hampshire.

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

Taking two evening classes is considered full time, Yet only full time day students are eligible for SEOG's up to 12,000. a year. As a working mother of three teenagers I should receive financial aid from the school, but I only receive pell grants and to me that's discrimantion.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Make sure the students understand that if they go to a big school there will be loud music and people all the time so it will be difficult to study especially not being used to that envirement. If they go to a small school it might be extremely boring and could give the kid depression issues again if he isn't used to that envirement. I also seem that leaving your door open in the dorm allows to make new friends easily.

What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

The teachers because they dont really help you out and make time they just have one or two day a week office hours just for students but not there long enough to help everyone.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

When finidng the right fit it is important to make sure that you feel comfortable and at home on your campus because that is where you will be living for the next 4 years of your life. If the campus has a comfortable setting then you are more likey to do well in school because you are not as tense and would be more comfortable getting the help you need. The location of a campus is also important because that will determine what your social life will be like...will you go out on the town on the weekends or will you hangout at dorm room parties? The feel and setting of a college campus are extreamly important factors when making a decission of where to go to school.

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

PublicSafety & FinancialAid. Public safety doesnt get involved if there is a fight on campus. if you want a ride to your dorm when its dark out they wont help you (they claim they offer this service). if you report an accident or vandalism it takes them a long time to respond and give you the help you need. The financial aid office ONLY gives out money to kids and families who have little to no money...thats great, but people like me, whose family makes money but still cant pay for this school, dont qualify for any money at all.

What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

How comfortable the setting is, how nice and experienced the teachers are. All of my teachers have been available 24/7 and always willing to help me. They are experienced in the field and are able to teach students more because of that.

What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

Student attitudes toward learning. Lack of interest diversity.

What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

Lack of interest in academics among students. Kind of a boring campus.

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

Some of the professors do not seems to care about teaching. There is not too many choices for people who want to eat oraganically or are vegetarians, and the staff is often not too helpful and often rude when dealing with students.
