The school is good for cheaply getting your core classes out of the way and a safe way to dip your toes in the college life, but not much else. I've made a number of friends that may or may not have made it through my 3 years of schooling and the classes have been bearable.
SUSCC is not a bad school at all. Many judge the place because a lot of commuters pretty much know each other, but it's actually not a bad thing. I believe my past year and a half at SUSCC in Wadley have been pretty great overall. Classes are good, teachers are nice, and there are many outstanding students attending.
Southern Union is a small, convenient community college. Most professors are passionate about the subjects they teach and truly care about students' education and well-being. Some staff are not very helpful or friendly. Academics are great and tuition is low. Overall, Southern Union is a very good college to attend for your Associate's degree.
I have been a student at Southern Union State CC for only a year but it has been a great experience. The class sizes are small and make learning much easier being able to communicate with the teacher who is always willing to help. I would definitely recommend this college.

If I were able to go back in time and talk to my high school self, there are many things that I would say. One thing I would tell myself is not to be afraid of change. Growing from a high school student to a college student can be a stressful journey; however, it is a journey worth taking. Yes, you may see it as a rough road because of the important choices you will have to make, like picking a major, etc., but to look at the brighter side and see it as a great opportunity to experience new surroundings, and to learn new ideas from your peers and professors. A second thing I would tell myself is to count your blessings everyday and to be thankful that you are able to attend a high school and have the opportunity to attend any college of your choosing because there are thousands upon thousands of students around the world who have the talent and the mind to attend college but may be stiffled by their government or family situation and are not able to spread their wings and grow into a well educated being.
The worst thing about my school is that there is no cell phone service here. Also there is not main fastfood restaurant. You have to drive at least twenty minutes to get to the near place with a restaurant or cell phone service. Other than that Wadley is a nice place with very generous people.

An educational institution that strives to send all of its students to a four year university, while taking the time to fully train and educate its students to succeed at the university of their choosing.
I wish I would have known that the nursing program was very hard to get into before I came to Southern Union.
The best thing that I consider about my school is the closeness one can get in the classroom. This is acheivable because Southern Union's student to staff ratio is small; so therefore, students are able to attend small classes and have a one-on-one relationship with their teacher. Each student is referred to by his/her name and not seat number which is a good feeling.
A person that lacks motivation to study and work hard for there grades
My classmates are not as dedicated as I am.
