I have loved my time here. There nursing program was just ranked #1 in the state of Utah. Professors email me if I do not show up to class, because they pay close attentions and genuinely care about each of their students. The environment is positive and outdoor friendly. I love SUU!

Located in the middle of beautiful Cedar City, SUU is a great school for all. The opportunities for each student are endless. From the many clubs to the connected student body, each TBIRD will feel at home. As a concurrent enrollment student and visitor to SUU activities, I have met awesome people and feel that SUU cares about me.

SUU is amazing! With small class sizes, great academics and student life, and a beautiful campus, it feels like home. :) When you are not in class, there is always a place to study or some activity to do. If your friends all attend a different school, no worries! People are super friendly and always ready to have some fun. No matter what you're looking for, there is a place for you in the SUU family.

I am a freshman at Southern Utah University. I am originally from Denver Colorado. I came to SUU to study aviation. When I came for orientation with my family, I was taken back at how much I felt at home right away. The team at SUU welcomed everyone with a lot of enthusiasm. They even took to time to walk me to each of my classes, so I knew where to go. The freshman alone had their own welcoming committee and we felt seriously cavalier running through the welcome tunnel. I felt more at home here than my own high school. The first few days before school started, we were able to enjoy dances and parties that put us all meshed together as a student body and we got to know a lot of people. We had a lot of fun dancing and pairing off into groups that helped us bond before classes started. After those first few days I had no worries about having friends in class because I already met so many. When classes started, I discovered the classrooms sizes were about the same, and maybe even smaller, than my high school classes. I felt like I was in my hometown, like I have known these people all my life but still had a sense of excitement with the newness of it all. I didn’t feel intimidated by the professors at all. I felt like they were my Aunts and Uncles or something. Here I was expecting to feel so out of place like a falling leave from a tree not knowing where to land, but this felt like home right away. The sports games are so electrifying to watch because the fans are outrageous about their teams. Although the football team could sure use my help, it was a rip-roaring good time going to those games. Another delightful activity that is famous to Utah is the Shakespeare Festival put on in the summertime by the thespians of the school. I have yet to experience this but is something I am looking forward to. So far so good at SUU. I think I will stay here awhile. Where else can you have this much fun with such beautiful surroundings and a plethora of outdoor activities to keep you occupied, in between homework of course. I really relish this new home and the challenges yet to come.

I Think that it is a great school I hope to be excepted. The tours are great and admissions is friendly and so are the counselors. The Student housing looks comfortable to live in not to big not to small for on campus housing. For off Campus housing its really affordable it advantages about to 300 maybe 350 per room for rent which is great. I would recommend someone apply and come to SUU.

I absolutely loved my time at SUU. I spent my freshman year there as a theatre major, and I loved every minute of it. The professors are on your team. The class sizes aren't too big, and it was easy for me to be academically successful while still being about to participate in extra curricular activities and work. It is a well rounded school, and I loved every minute I was there.

I think it is a great community that gets involved and has a great student to teacher ratio. The sports life is advertised everywhere, and I enjoy how supportive SUU students are of all activities. The financial aid office is very helpful and makes me feel less stressed. Overall it’s a great school.

It was pretty frustrating because I do not come from a family of college graduates and the academic advisers didn't take the time to help me to graduate in the quickest way possible because I came to school with two associates. They told me I needed two years to finish which was not the case because I am a non traditional student and once I was done talking to about 7 different advisers, I finally found someone that could help me and pointed me in the right direction. Instead taking classes I need they said it was a good idea to duel major and I took classes that set me back, but when I finally got with an academic adviser that knew what they were talking about, they were very confused as to why I hadn't been helped and directed towards a successful less stressful graduation. I have been trying to get help paying for school and there financial aid advisers would tell me there is no money then when I would get other people involved there magically appeared to be more money, which would have been nice to know because I wouldn't have so much student debt, after I had repeatedly tried to get information about scholarships and after talking to about twenty people I finally had some success for my upcoing semester. It's super frustrating to have to fight this much to get help when I rely and trust these people to help me, when come to find out it really is only just to get me out the door, and I have to consistently fight to get help.
