I wish I would have known that there are more scholarships available, and I wish I would have known it was one of the most expensive schools in Utah.

Caitlin

I wish I had known more about the possible career paths available at the Southern Utah before I started attending. I had been a gymnast my entire life so I studied what I knew; exercise. I think if I would have known more about the possible career paths then I would have made a more educational decision as too which major I chose.

I wish I knew about the print center inside the library before I came to this school because I had no idea I needed to pay for printing papers, and I had no idea how to pay for them. When I needed to print documents and arcticles for my English portfolio, I went to the library to print them but I didn't know I needed to pay for printing papers from the library. I didn't even know where the papers were printing from or if they even printed at all.

Jamie

I wish I'd been told how much online (Canvas) work there is, which I personally can't stand. But I guess it's unavoidable.

Ashley

i wish i had known a lot more on how to go out and find some financial help. I also wished I would have known how very little the school helps students who are doing very well in school academically, but yet don't help them financially. I wish I also would have known how there tuition increases would have severely hurt me throughout the years of my college education.

Why is our mascot named Thor? You figure it out eventually just being there, I mean we are the Thunderbirds. There's nothing you really need to know before coming to SUU because if you don't know it there's always someone there to help you figure it out whether its your classmates or your professors.

Taylor

Well, to be honest, there's not really much I can think of. I knew pretty much everything I needed to before I went. However, I do wish I would have asked already attending students about the teachers there. I ended up with good teachers, luckily, but I'd rather not leave it up to luck, but rather research and preparedness. I'd say, find out about the teachers before you sign up for classes to make sure you get the best education possible.

Anna

What degrees were offered and how long each took to finish, roughly. Also, what career possibilities there are with certain degrees.

Robbie

I was very familiar with this school before I came as it was only an hour and fifteen minutes from where I graduated from high school.

Mandy

I wish I had known more about the student support center. I know about now and I love it. It has been very helpful to me and the people who work there are excellent. I only wish I had known about it sooner.

Alisha

I wish that I had know more on how to get financial help.

Brittany

I would have packed more snow gear -- this campus gets very cold in the winter! Luckily just an hour drive south is a very warm urban community, so many students travel there on the weekends to thaw out.

More about campus

Diana

It's not worth stressing over. It's easier than high school was, and you have more time to be yourself and act and do things you want to.

Lori

I wish I would have known how many opportunities to become active and involved were available to me. Knowing that SUU prides themselves on student feedback and participation would have made my decision of which college to attend a lot quicker. There are so many things to do, whether you like to spend time outdoors or want to focus on becoming the best you can be by joining student based groups focused on helping out. The students at SUU are heavily invested into helping out the local community and making a difference.

Rachel

I wish I would have realized how hard it was going to be to be away from home and away from my friends. I wish I wouldn't have been naive.

Kyle

I wish i had known how awesome Cedar City is!! Then i would have come here sooner

Tyler

What I wish I would have known before I came to Southern Utah University would be how cold it gets. We are high in the mountains where it snows a lot. I came from Vegas so I was not use to the cold weather at all. I had to buy many of jackets to stay warm but as the number of months grew on I began to get use to the cold air. But the school is so amazing that you just deal with the weather

Madyson

Before going to Southern Utah University I wish I would have known how much I was going to love it. I went to a school in California when I started my college experience and looking back I should have investigated the schools closer to home a little more carefully.

Tyler

I wish I would have put myself out there and went to more activities earlier on. I used to be very shy, and rarely talked to anyone, but now I know quite a bit of people on campus and have so many useful connections.

Sarah

The amount of work that is required of Freshmen is absoultely insane! It is almost like an initiation just for coming to school here. The faculty who put this on, say that it is useful to "learn to adapt to college life." Freshmen are required to attend workshops, seminars and other classes that are supposed to help them with their education on top of their regular classes. This is meant to help them and change their major priority to school. My experience was that they did not. I felt bitter towards the school and embarassed because of it all.

Rachel

I wish that I had known that some of the students here are crazy.
