Parents, let go of your children, they can handle themselves. Kids, be yourself, have some fun and let loose. Boozin and boobzin isnt what school is all about. Get a good group of friends and college will be a blast. Parents, seriously, when your kids come back home, dont treat them like children, they're adults now. LET THEM BE! And everything will just be fine. Trust your kids, kids trust your parents.

Choosing the right college is crucial to you son's or daughters experiences in college. Make sure that they will stay active on the campus and encourage them to take part in as many activities as they have time for. School isn't all about homework and exams, but also focus on the happiness of them. Make sure they are completely satisfied with the school before committing to it.

The best advice that I can give to parents is be there for your children. College is a difficult time for them and it makes things a whole lot easier to survive when you know that you can count on your family.

First, find a college with a general atmosphere that fits you well. Look at the students, as well as the professors views/attitudes. Second, when you do find a college that fits, do not go home for at least a month. You will never really feel like you're in college if you go home every weekend. Third, get involved! Get into clubs, campus activities, anything - just get involved as soon as you get to college. It's a great way to make friends and jump into the college life. As far as classes go, do not procrastinate. It will eventually get you in trouble. Look at it this way, you might as well learn good habits before you're kicked into the "real world". Lastly, I would suggest staying away from the party scene. It may seem fun for awhile, but it will eventually negatively affect every part of your life. Besides, you'll want to remember your college years for the rest of your life!

Laura

Find a school with a wide variety of classes so that you always have the option to change your mind or decide what you want to do if you haven't already. Get involved as much as you possibly can. You will make new friends quickly amd have a lot of fun.

Take a college visit before you decide to go anywhere. Get a feel for the atmosphere of the town and the people in it. Don't make a decision based on the place you have the most friends at. Make a decision that suits you and your needs. Spen time making pros and cons charts for each university you look at. Find the one that you feel you will be most comfortable at.

Live [go somewhere that fits] within your means. Study hard. Make sure your experience is the best that it could possibly be--You get out of college what you put into it. The most important advice though is: have fun; if what you are doing isn't fun, you are more likely to try and "get out as quickly as possible" and miss other aspects of [college] life along the way. While everything is not fun in life, everything is s good or bad as you make it. Put your power and effort into studying your passion and don't forget to live while doing so. Just remember to enjoy the experience as a whole--if you don't enjoy it, then why go?

Renae

It has to be the choice of the student. They need to go where it feels right for them. It is a once in a lifetime experience to be a freshman at a college you it should be enjoyed.
