A serious student that is interested in learning with a hands on approach. Southwestern is smaller with small class sizes that is highly effective and makes for a serious learning environment where the student and professor can actually have a relationship vs a large university with 100 plus class sizes. This makes learning the material easier and getting to know others in the class also easier. I transferred from a larger university and I feel more comfortable with learning the sciences at Southwestern.
The kind of person that shouldn't attend SWOSU is one of those peole who are lazy, unmotivated, not caring, doesn't like to be happy or enjoy themselves. SWOSU has something for everyone, just be sure to have an open mind to the culture change and the different atmosphere, but it really is a wonderful place.
The type of person who should not attend this school is person who does a small-town feel of a place to live. SWOSU is a small university. The class sizes are reasonably small and sometimes the professors can identify the students in the class without calling roll. This school is not for a person the type of person who wants to get lost in the crowd or be anonymous. Just walking across the campus, you are bound to recognize at least one person.
A student, who is used to big schools, should reconsider coming to Southwestern. Southwestern is a medium size school with an average class size of twenty-six students. It is a place where every face looks familiar, and almost everybody`s name is known. A reserved student might want to keep their life private. Also, since it is not a big school, Southwestern does not have a huge variety of events. An active student might want to have a huge range of options of organizations or events.
People who are use to being in big cities and like to have everything that a big city has.
Kids that have never been away from home. I played softball and traveled all over the U.S. and I was used to being away from home. Kids that rely on home life would find this to be difficult.
A person who is most interested in social event and entertainment other than education.
Somebody who is not going to put forth the effort it requires to do well in this school. This school has a good reputation of being a good academic school, so a person not willing to do the work would not do well here.
The kind of person who shouldn't atten this school is someone who doesn't want to learn and focus on getting a career and good grades to have a better future and people who just don't care about their education or future job.
