This school is fantastic for those who play sports, have wealthy parents, and were popular in high school. It's the up-and-coming suburban living prep-school, perfect for anyone who is very interested in partying and less interested in learning. I'll admit, the STEM classes have been challenging, and I do enjoy conversing with my professors. The student body, however, is largely made up of people who did not seem to learn respect as children and care to graduate with the degree, but no actual knowledge on their topic of study. This school is located in the middle of suburbia, just far enough from Austin that it is no longer worth the drive. Don't give yourself hope in looking at Georgetown's square -- there's nothing to do there, either.
Its a great school, easy to access professors. Great clubs and organizations. Most students are open minded, great location. Furthermore Southwestern University has relatively small sizes, Interactive classes, exposure to cool things . Through intentional experience and exposure, liberal arts colleges provide students with the all-important problem-solving and critical thinking skills. They focus on how to think, not what to think. Instead of memorizing facts and then forgetting the information at the end of the semester, students learn to examine, think and connect ideas. These valuable skills, practiced and reiterated throughout the entire college experience, are the skills necessary to innovate and create meaningful change in the world. There are also great financial Aid Opportunities.
Southwestern is a place that encourages creativity. In class, professors provide many opportunities for participation and encourage students to ask questions. They are eager for students to learn and understand the material and enjoy whenever students visit them outside of class. Social events on campus are entertaining and allow for a light-hearted atmosphere. At Southwestern, I found people who shared my interests and those they didn't share they still encouraged me to pursue them. I found a home here and I find myself reminded of that everyday I am on campus.
While the social scene can be frustrating because it is dominated by Greek life, SU is great. The professors are extremely accessible and most are truly passionate and intelligent people. Everyone is really friendly, and Austin is a super quick drive.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Southwestern University is 45%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
I have been in college for only a few months; however I feel as if I have experienced so much. I have experienced living in a dorm, moving away from home, playing a collegiate sport, joining groups such as Catholic Student Association, Pirate Crew, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes, meeting new diversity of people, and creating a new chapter in my life. Starting college was like opening a new journal in my life. I had the pen in my hand, and the opportunity to write my own journey. So far my time in college has been the most challenging and exciting time in my life. College has been valuable to my life because it has forced me to grow up and start to be more independent. It has also challenged me in many ways, especially, academically. I feel like every day is a new and exciting challenge.
I wish I'd known how to study, but by now I've learned. Don't worry too much, Southwestern will catch you up on writing skills and good study habits and things of that nature.

Southwestern University is the best environment for students who want to work hard and play hard. Its close enough to Austin that if you want to party hard on the weekends you can go to clubs there or you can stay on campus and party at the fraternities, but Southwestern has plenty of people who aren't big drinkers or partiers. There are lots of movie nights, comedians, small concerts, guest speakers and lecturers and fine arts events on campus that you don't need to worry about your social life here. Just be ready to study hard regardless.
How revered Southwestern University is for their academics. Also, that our professors work one on one with the students for as long as necessary to help them.

Southwestern is a small, intimate, academically challenging private liberal arts university with a beautifully historic campus near Austin, TX.
How welcoming Southwestern University is to anyone and everyone. Also how accepting everyone is towards each other other although it is very diverse.
My school offers small classes and professors who care more about giving us insight into the world and educational opportunities than their paychecks. I love Southwestern because the people really matter here. Students are given as much financial help possible to come or stay at this university, while other students are generous and willing to help newcomers understand the way the University works. Georgetown is also friendly, and is just small enough that they genuinely care about all of the students' welfare.
The people who attend this school tend to be frendly and outgoing. There is a strong liberal tendency at this school however people of all diffrent beliefs and backgrouds feel free to discuss their diffrences and not judge others for having different feelings than their own.
In a nutshell: My campus is best known for creating better human beings. Southwestern fosters values and ideals that enhance and enrich our lives as students and focuses both on academics and giving back to the community.
Since it is a much smaller school than most others, news and gossip spreads very quickly.
Greek life is the best! I joined Alpha Xi Delta and it has been a (mostly) great experience that ahs really helped me grow as a person.
I love it at Southwestern. Choosing to go here is literally the best choice that I have made thus far in my life.
One of the biggest stereotypes is that we are a bunch of white liberal rich kids. I am a conservative and my roommate is Asian, if that tells you anything.
