I'm not going to pretend that Spring Arbor is the right school for everyone, because it is not. Students here are expected to follow campus rules, and you will most likely be caught if you don't. Other than that, Spring Arbor is for people who desire to grow in their walk with the Lord while simultaneously getting a college education. If you come with willingness to learn and grow, you will, and God will take you further than you ever imagined--literally--in your academics, your social life, your spiritual life, and basically everything else too!

Students who want to get a step ahead of the rest I would encourage to attend this particular university. Spring Arbor University requires students to go on a cross cultural trip which includes many different destinations. This trip has had the reputation of permanently changing students' perspectives of the world and introduces them to other ways of life. This connection to other cultures forces students out their confort zone and into something different. SAU has Christian standards and expects a certain way of life in order to maintain the great community.

A student who wishes for a very close sense of community should attend Spring Arbor. One of the draws for this school is the social and learning environment. When freshmen enter into their first semester at SAU, they are placed in a group of 15 students with whom they have social outings and form accountability groups. This enables students to adapt to college life quickly, and have a group of friends that care about one another. Once a solid bond is established with a few people on campus, students are more at ease with their academic life.

Madeline

Any person! SAU does have strict rules about "normal" college things though, like drinking and being alone with boyfriends/girlfriends. If you don't want to follow rules like that, regardless of your opinion on them, a different school might be a better choice.

As any college should, Spring Arbor expects its students, especially working students to work hard. They expect as a working adult, time is valuable and they expect you to treat your time at school as valuable.

The program I am attending through Spring Arbor University, but in Northern Michigan and online, is perfect for adults returning to school to finish a degree like myself. It is not limited to those in my situation though. This school offers great programs that meet the desires and goals for many students seeking a four year degree in Social Work, Early Childhood Education, and Elementary and Secondary Education. I am not familiar with their on-campus programs, only those offered here in Northern Michigan in the cities of Gaylord, Petoskey, and Cheboygan. This is also a good school for Christians.

Frances

This is a Christian school, so we do attract many Christians. However we are open to anyone, of any religion or atheist or agnostic. People into drugs and alcohol be warned, there is not real tolerance for that as far as I can tell. People who are serious about serving God in there life will find a lot of support. Students who are academically serious seem to have a better study enviroment here.

Clare

Since Spring Arbor University is a Christian school with Jesus Christ as the perspective for learning, I believe students with integrity should attend this school. If you have a desire to grow in your relationship with Christ and be in community with other believers, this is the right school for you. You must be willing to abide by the rules and be creative with how you spend your time, since drinking alcohol is not tolerated on or off our campus. You should be easily entertained, as well, since Spring Arbor is located in a rural area.

Jordan

A self-learner- the teachers most likely will not captivate you to learn- you must know how to do it on your own.

Karen

Since there is such a wide variety of people on campus, I honestly couldn't say. What I can say is that since Spring Arbor University (SAU) is a Christian institution based on Weslyan traditions, that might give one a general idea of how things are run. I love that the faculty and staff at SAU are genuinly interested in the student's best interests and are always trying to help out. Something potential students need to know about SAU is that it is a private school that is relatively expensive, but does offer great financial aid.

Ashley

The type of person who should attend this school should be a person who wants a small, friendly community atmosphere. This person should want to develop their relationship with Christ on a deeper level while making new friends and being challanged academically.

Brooke

Someone who is unsure about their faith, can filter what advice is good and what is bad, does not easily follow the crowd, can think for himself. Too many people think the same way and too many more follow them. THis school needs people ho think differently and aren't afraid to say so. Discussion needs to be sparked. Faiths and comfort zones need to be challenged. Attitudes need to be changed.

Kendra

I believe that Spring Arbor University sees each person, no matter their past or who they are as an individual, as a potential student. The University reaches out to everyone who is eager to learn more. If a student is ready and willing to apply themselves to their studies they will not only achieve so much, but they will also learn what is takes to go far. Yes, it is a Christian university, and no matter what different religious backgrounds come in, This school takes in everybody and gives them hope and encouragement for life.

Alicia

A person who is looking for more of a personal relationship with their professors and God. I feel that this school does a great job describing the religious and non-religious views of the world, but it is important to be open minded if one decides to attend this university. If someone wants to be in an environment that develops close relationships, this is definitely the place to be. But be aware this school is smaller than most, so it is easy to meet new people.

Johnathon

The kind of person that should attend this school is anyone looking for a place to grow spirituall.

Lauryn

Anyone who want's to be a part of a small school, student's who want to be challenged to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Or students who simply have the desire to learn more about the world from the Christian perspective.
