I was invited to attend a BBQ the first day before I started my Freshman year at St.Francis. Here , I met everyone I would be spending the next four years of my life with. Everyone was outside participating in the activities . From professors , to staff , even the principle. This is when I knew I made the right choice. A month into my freshman year , I was offered a job as a student worker in admissions and I am so appreciative of that opportunity. I am now in my second year and I am a Criminal Justice Major. Most of my professors have had some involvement with law enforcement in the past so it is good to have first hand stories that are shared with me. We take our basketball games very seriously , just as we do any other sports. Overall , St.Francis is like a home to me and I appreciate everyone there and the environment we create as a community.
It was a really good school. I liked the campus and the location, right in the heart of Brooklyn. One stop away from Manhattan and It's just a very good school overall. The staff and students were very friendly when I paid the campus a visit and the surrounding areas are nice as well
Located in the heart of Brooklyn Heights, it doesn't get much better than this for Brooklynites. It's called the small college of big dreams for a reason. It is all about what you make it. Classes are small and staff is very caring. If you are determined you will go far!
St. Francis college accepted me and welcomed me with nothing but smiles. I missed the first day because of work and this college just let me come on my day off and gave me my schedule and sent me straight to class. St. Francis College is fun and helpful in so many ways that it's just bad if anybody misses the opportunity .
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for St Francis College is 64%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
If I could go back in time and talk to myself as a highschool senior the advice I would give myself would be first take my SAT's and go straight to a four year college. I did not take my SAT's in highschool, Therefore, I went to a community college and obtained my assosciate's degree. After graduating highschool I took some time off and then decided to go to school. That was a big mistake. I would tell myself that a college degree is very important and not only does it open career paths but it's a self accomplishment. I would suggest to visit different college campuses and really think about what my major would be. I would tell myself that in order to have success in life its a must to attend college & obtain a degree. I would also emphasize on how school has to be my only one priority. The number one key to success in life is an educaton. The last little bit of advice I would give would be "Think of when you have your kids, you want them to say my mother is a professonal. She graduated from Saint Francis College!"
The worst thing about St. Francis is the fact that the staff sis very unorganized. The school is so small that they do everything by paper which ends in losing it. You have to send documents and forms in multiple times and call the school multiple times to make sure things are correct.
It is a place where you can be yourself.
The best thing about Saint Francis College are the professors. You build a relationship with the professors. You learn, interact and improve your knowledge when listening to their experience in the field. For example currently two of my professors right now are in the economic industry & accounting industry and Im amazed of how successful they are. It makes you reflect that college is not easy and you have to work hard but in the end all that work is well worth it.
If you are used to a huge campus feel including a highschool do not attend. This school is very small so you will not be used to it although it does have its advantages.
the school is unique. it was started by franciscan brothers in 1859 and it took off ever since. this scool is affordable and the people are very friendly and they care about you compared to if you went to an Ivy league university that they don't even know your name. plus the classes are smaller so the professors can give you one on one attention so that you can do well. it also has a nice community feeling and the transportation is not far away.
Someone serious about college and willing to make oppurtunities happen for themselves. For example, I would like to study abroad. Since the school is smaller they dont have too many connections with study abroad programs so if I want to study at a particular institution I need to do the research and handle most of the communication. This is a school where you can grow up and become independant, I did in just a few months. I feel if you are attending school for the right reasons(education and growth) you will fit in well here.
Sometimes financial aid does not cover the tuition enough.
