It is extremely important that I gain good study habits and focus on a career goal in college. I need to talk with my school counselor and start planning what area of study I need to take in college to be successful in life. What scholarships can I apply for now that will help wit h my tuition and expenses? The class schedule load can be very overwhelming and if some classes can be taken during the summer term then I would advise it to lessen the load. It makes for a short summer but it will help with the insanity that sometimes come from carrying 18-21 credit hours per semester. Be prepared the first sememster to go through a whole senario of ups and downs, frustrations to find your classes, where you are going to live and finding the time to do your own laundry and completing all your class assignments - well it is reality. You can do it, because the end result of completing your goal and starting a new profession is exciting and when you get that first paycheck - a mental note of I can do it and I did do it.
St. Johns College of Nursing supported through Southwest Baptist University is a dynamic educational institution with caring instructors who desire for each student to be successful. Students are provided a learning resource center in which to practice skills, ask instructors questions, and get assistance in weak areas. The library has a wide variety of resources for completing assignments, as well as, providing access to other libraries in the city and the SBU Bolivar, Missouri campus. I have been encouraged to continue my education to obtain by bachelors degree, which I plan to do.
St. Johns College of Nursing staff are very helpful and always have their office doors open to provide answers and give direction to the students. The lectures are informative and student friendly, and power points, NCLEX questions, and study groups are encouraged. Instructors provide answers to questions during the lectures and refer to the textbook for further reading in difficult areas. St. Johns encourages their instructures to obtain further education and obtain their Masters Degrees. It is this kind of environment that I find rich in learning, because all of us are learning new things every day.
