The career services department is under-developed. It has limited resources that only help with finding jobs in the D.C. area. Career services was especially unhelpful to those looking for a job out-of-state.
The most frustrating part of my school is the lack of, overall, financial aid assistance. Since my freshman year at this institution, I have continually been threatened with registration holds and classes cancelltion because of lack of financial funds to pay off tuition balances. Instead of aiding students in finding solutions to help cover their financial problems, the school disregards any help they ask for ad threatens the students with expulsion or cancellation of housing or classes.
My school is very small. Everyone knows everyone else's business, and oftentimes small cliques form and leave some people without many friends. If you don't get close with some people early on, my experience is that it may take a while to make good friends. There are no fraternaties or sororities, so the athletes tend to head the party scene, which is one of the big things to seek out on the weekends. The administrations is helpful, but have few people working in each office, slowing progress a bit.
The emphasis on drinking. I don't drink, and I don't understand why everyone else seems to think that it's the only way to have a good time.
The incompetant bureaucracy that some like to call the Administration... Oh and how rediculous the tuition is...they just raised it AGAIN.
Having to leave over breaks.
doesn't set you up with jobs
