St. Petersburg College is a good starting place for students who have gotten out of high school and putting out feelers for college life and academics. This is primarily due to the fact that many of the professors and classes at St. Petersburg College rival that of 4-year universities through both their quality of instruction and provision of learning resources for students within and without of the classroom. However, unlike these universities, this college does not offer any on-or-off campus living facilities, therefore causing many students to either stay with family or rent an apartment close by (if possible). Moreover, some campuses are located in some questionable areas, so its sometimes better to ensure that you're either with somebody at all times or only frequent the campus in the daylight.
The school is a pretty solid school for a community college. The professors a pretty good but there are some you want to avoid. The students and faculty are usually quite friendly and willing to help in encouraging a learning environment. Also the online portal that is used for submitting some assignments is easy to use and has been a help in remembering when items are due.
I'll be real here, I was never psyched about going here, but I had to go somewhere or else a $5,000 scholarship would have gone down the drain. Now that I've gone through a few semesters, it's actually a really great and useful college to attend. All the professors I've had are eager to teach and learn. The school wants you to succeed, they even offer free tutoring. Student IDs get you free bus rides and in on exclusive events. Guest speakers come around often, and I even got the chance to see a documentary at the local culture festival that would have cost an arm and a leg for anyone else, and I got to meet the director and the documented person! The St. Pete/Gibbs campus is very friendly and as safe as can be while not feeling like a prison. Security staff is helpful, friendly, and always on alert. The student population is very diverse, all age ranges and backgrounds. A great environment to broaden your perspective and learn new things.
St. Petersburg College is a great school in my opinion. The class sizes are small enough so that you have access to instructors without a challenge. They have multiple campuses to accommodate times and needs of classes. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in school activities. The instructors are very supportive of their students and do not sugar coat when difficulties arise. I would definitely recommend Saint Petersburg College be considered in your college options.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for St Petersburg College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
If I could go back in time as a highschool student I would tell myself to stick with gymnastic or diving and work for a scholorship, focus more on grades and not worry about the bullies.
There really isn't much I don't like about my school.
The best thing about my school is the smaller class sizes and the individual attention given from professors. The professors are willing to work with your schedule and give you extra help if you are in need. Since the student body is predominantly older, the professors understand that life sometimes gets in the way and things happen. They are willing to cut you a break in certain circumstances, so you can pass the class and graduate.
My school tries to offer the best options for its students.
We ask many questions about the material; some people may not understand what's being said and most of us aren't afraid to speak our minds.
St Pete College was a previous junior college, and is now an accredited 4 year college.
Someone looking for a higher education.
The type of person that should attend this school would be someone who is very motivated. There are many different types of degrees available, and you need to know what you want to do. Even if you don't know what you want to do there's a class for that. This school is very helpful when it comes to that. However just like any college you need to be motivated.
I brag that my school is more affordable than Pasco-Hernando Community College.
I began my education experience at Santa Fe College in August of 2007. I only wish I would have known that the financial aid office was such a dreadful experience. Thus, I would have applied for more scholarships to make the loan process easier. However, I now have to stuggle to get by in college to make something more of myself by repetitively accpeting and reaccepting loans to make it. I now know that it is vital to take advantage of every opportunity that comes to you for it may give you a chance to succeed in any carrer.
Theres not much student interaction form what I see.
There are alot of options with regards to online classes....many to choose from.
