Describe the students at your school.

Most of my classmates are awesome people that I have come to know as friends. There are so many motivated people looking forward to a career in surgical technology. They are all so different, young or old, male or female, so many different backgrounds.

Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!

My school is fun! It's so hands on. We are already doing mock surgeries in class and learning what it will really be like once we are out in the hospitals performing real surgeries. The teachers actually care about the students and want us to succeed and have a career. They offer their own time to help us after school.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

If I could go back and tell myself a few things, I think it would have changed my life. First, always expect the unexpected. Don't think you'll have people to take care of you. I have been living by myself since 19 years old. I would also have told myself to get a head start on my education. I only went to a community college for a short period of time and never quite decided what it was that I wanted to do with my life. I always tell my younger brother to not take advantage of his time in college. He has been given an opportunity that I was never afforded. I wish that I could have gone away to college and had a degree and a career by now. Now I know what I want to do with my life and I am struggling everyday to accomplish it. It is so much work to get through school and still have the life I have already started. Hopefully it will all work out in the end and I will have a very long, successful career and help many lives.
