My overall opinion is, it’s a fantastic place to find yourself. No matter if your there for sports, getting the grades, or meeting your people, SFA has something for you. This campus is so supportive in many ways by how willing everyone is to lend a hand, be there to listen, or jump along side of you for your journey. I can’t imagine myself anywhere else.

The cost of attendance is to high!!!!!!!! We need better dorm spaces or they should at least change the requirements of living off campus. They should change the cafeteria hours by making them longer at least until 10 P.M. And lastly college minority students should be treated more fairly in the Nacogdoches city!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel like Stephen F. Austin State University overall isn't too bad of a place. Of course it can improve in many areas, but at the same time, it could be drastically worse. On-campus housing and the food in the cafeterias could be a million times better, and more convenient for students, and I think that's the biggest obstacle, especially if we have to pay so much for it. The diversity among students and faculty/staff could also improve drastically. What I do like about SFASU is how isolated it is. It helps me escape from the city life I'm used to in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

Stephen F. Austin is a really small rural university. I love the fact that the classes are small or average size because you get to be more interactive with your professor. Sports are a big thing here and the students love supporting. The academics in the school are really great. The only thing SFA lacks is diversity and culture. It is not as diverse as other universities and that can intimidate minorities. Although they do have some resources, they do lack compared to other universities. As the years go, SFA is becoming more diverse and cultured. This change is due to the students' motivation to change SFA. Students are such a big part of the SFA and Nacogdoches community. Also, SFA is in a really small town and there is not so much to do. If you're a big city girl or boy, SFA will not be for you.

Academics are great and the people are really involved. You don’t go a day without seeing a smiling face. Everyone is nice. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved including sports, clubs, organizations, on campus jobs and off campus jobs.

SFA is a good place to go if you are comfortable in a really small town and if you're into party culture, if not, you will be very bored. There isn't much to do out in Nacogdoches, especially on the weekends, unless you are into the party scene. It's a gorgeous campus and really good small sized classes, with good professors. The education you get is reflected by the price, because I do feel there are better colleges academically out there.

As an incoming junior transferring in this fall from a junior college, Stephan F. Austin State University has a warm welcoming feeling as soon as you step onto campus. Every employee and student that I have met absolutely love SFA. As you walk around campus, you can feel the lumberjack pride and spirit no matter where you are. I can not wait to join this fall and to Axe 'em!

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Stephen F. Austin is a wonderful place to learn and to live. Like at any school filled with imperfect humans, it has its problems and it ca n sometimes be a little quirky, however, the professors and other staff members always put the students first. The campus police, the grounds and custodial staff, the professors, the cooks, the administration, the advisers, and everyone else who works on campus cares very deeply about the students and their well-being, in fact one of our motto's is "your most important college project it you," and they mean it. The faculty and staff where that phrase on a shirt, and they mean it. Beyond all of the important things, there is also a beautiful aesthetic. Any time of year, rain or shine, there is an aspect of beauty glistening from campus, and part of it comes from all the trees. The piney woods of Texas are truly homey, and so is SFA.
