I love Suffolk county community college. I chose after high school not to go away to school, to stay home. I had family issues that prevented me from continuing school at the moment. but now I'm back in school and I couldn't be happier. From the variety of classes and times, to how well the professors are. You couldn't ask for a better college to attend. The advisers and counselors help you a lot if you aren't sure what you should do, and will happily but you on the right path for success! From Suffolk I plan on attending another college to get my bachelors degree and to continue on after that to PA school. If it wasn't for Suffolk, I wouldn't be where I am today. I will be forever grateful for the experiences I've had at Suffolk.

I truly enjoyed attending Suffolk County Community College. It is the perfect example of what you put in, you'll get out. Professors are fair and available when you need them, and the courses offer challenge but professors truly want you to learn the content taught. I would recommend it to anyone locally graduating high school.

Suffolk Is an amazing school. When I first started I was a little scared and worried for what was coming. I was scared of getting lost, being late, etc. Suffolk made me feel comfortable. Your ideas are expressed freely with no judgement at all. Suffolk makes me feel safe and wanted.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

The one piece of advice that I really wish that I could have given myself was to get my mind in gear and choose a major before the start of college, this way I wouldn't have to take two full semesters and one winter semester of Liberal Arts & General Studies due to the fact that I had no idea of what I wanted to do when I registered for college. Between the loss of my father and getting so many offers to different colleges in a vast amount of states across the country, and with no ideas as to what I wanted to do after High School, I was a bit stressed and therefore lost as to what I wanted to persue later in life. I am glad that I chose the automotive field to base my college studies in because I love my classes, my teachers, and the overall family atmosphere of the staff and the students within the program, as well as the fact that what I am learning now can be applied to everday life. Without transportation, the world wouldnt function, and my future will be a key element in making sure the world funtions efficiently.

  8. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

I wish I knew how much I'd enjoy attending school at Suffolk. I transferred out of a previous college to attend Suffolk. I am doing so much better than I was at the other school. It has been a great school to me. I have no complaints and will be graduating shortly. Of course the price of attending Suffolk is cheaper. I feel that I obtain more knowledge than I would if I went anywhere else. I wish Suffolk was my first choice so I didn't have to transfer so soon in my college years.

  13. What's unique about your campus?

The best thing About SCCC is its professors and class sizes which have been much better than the ones I had back at the first school I went to. The professors here are more like teachers while at my old school they were doing research and teaching on the side and most of them just sent teacher's assistants to teach classes which was frustrating since they couldn't answer so many questions that the professor could. Also the class sizes at the first school were massive while at SCCC they are like a standard class room.
