SUNY at Albany is an amazing school which I am extremely excited to be attending in the fall of 2019. I believe UAlbany has many great opportunities to be involved in a plethora of activities, including the arts, sports, politics and clubs. Internships are available for the students which I will certainty be partaking in, as well as an array of work-study opportunities. UAlbany has highly rated programs and academics and I am ecstatic to be enrolled in the College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity! I cannot wait to start school here because I know UAlbany has a great staff and close knit community. I am proud to be a Great Dane!

When I first applied to the school, I did it just to have it as a safe school. But after all the application and the schools I have gotten in this is the one! I have gotten to some big schools like, Fordham or Marist or Penn state but none of them compare to SUNY Albany and the opportunities it gives you and the perfect student life!

The campus is nice when they aren't doing construction. The classes can be relatively easy if you have a good teacher. The dorms and food situation is sub par at best. For the price we pay we should be getting better foods and the dorms should be better updated.

I believe the school has good programs and an accessible campus however it is easy for students to get caught in a slump. The school is said to be a party school but if you're not in Greek life, there is no where to go. The surrounding area was hit badly by the drug epidemic and it carries over into the school. The frigid winter and strong winds, which are made worse by the structure of campus, leads MANY to stay indoors. Being that college life is new and stressful, and the drugs are so readily available, students spend their days smoking weed or experimenting with dangerous, addictive drugs. The drug use and constant unhealthy dining hall food leaves students mentally unwilling to change and physically drained. Rather than being referred to counseling, we are penalized by ResLife or University Police. The main problems with this school stems from what the government has done to the area. To make UAlbany a better place, the government must be willing to fight the war on drugs and stop pigeonholing people of color.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

I am a grad student so my review might be a little bit biased. I spend most of my time in the downtime campus. Downtown campus is very much removed from uptown (which is where undergrad and most of events are held). There are very few on campus options for food, coffee and snacks in the grad building.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

I think it is an alright school with a few things that can be improved upon, this year they took in too many students so lots of people living on campus did not get official housing or were put into forced triples. I like it enough, and I haven't had any terrible professors but I have met a lot of great people in my short time here so far

What is your overall opinion of this school?

SUNY Albany is a great school with a vast amount of opportunities; there are a variety of Division 1 sports, artistic groups, and volunteer groups available. Members and leaders of these clubs are very friendly and inviting. Professors are generally interested in students' success and are happy to assist struggling students.

SUNY at Albany is a university full of opportunity. The professors I've had are always willing to help you if you need it. This university would benefit someone who is interested in research, athletics, and/or greek life. The extracurricular activities are endless. It's a very diverse school, with people of different cultures, races, and upbringings. The campus is pretty big, which means finding parking close to the academic buildings can be a hassle. However, this is a good school overall.

SUNY Albany is where it's at! There really is no other place like UAlbany. The diverse and beautiful campus is within close proximity of the always exciting city of Albany. There is always so much to do on campus and you can always find something fun in the city too. The academics are top-notch, our professors are experts in their fields and there are ample opportunities for research. The university has really been investing in their infrastructure over the past few years, building new areas and renovating outdated buildings. Overall, UAlbany is a great school and a really fun place to be. I love it!

What is your overall opinion of this school?

UAlbany is the most diverse and accepting university that I've ever came across. There is always something going on whether it's a crazy intense and spirited D1 athletic game going on, a dance party, or just a relaxing paint and sip in our very own campus center. There is never an opportunity to be bored at this school. Also, I love how open and accepting everyone is. I have never felt unwelcome at any time here and I always know that there are so many available resources for me if I have any questions about anything. This is the perfect school to transition from high school to college because of how at home you feel wherever you go. I can honestly say that every day is a great day to be a Great Dane, and I truly do love this school for all that it offers and all that it provides to make each student the most successful they can be.
