SUNY at Albany is a university full of opportunity. The professors I've had are always willing to help you if you need it. This university would benefit someone who is interested in research, athletics, and/or greek life. The extracurricular activities are endless. It's a very diverse school, with people of different cultures, races, and upbringings. The campus is pretty big, which means finding parking close to the academic buildings can be a hassle. However, this is a good school overall.

SUNY Albany is where it's at! There really is no other place like UAlbany. The diverse and beautiful campus is within close proximity of the always exciting city of Albany. There is always so much to do on campus and you can always find something fun in the city too. The academics are top-notch, our professors are experts in their fields and there are ample opportunities for research. The university has really been investing in their infrastructure over the past few years, building new areas and renovating outdated buildings. Overall, UAlbany is a great school and a really fun place to be. I love it!

UAlbany is the most diverse and accepting university that I've ever came across. There is always something going on whether it's a crazy intense and spirited D1 athletic game going on, a dance party, or just a relaxing paint and sip in our very own campus center. There is never an opportunity to be bored at this school. Also, I love how open and accepting everyone is. I have never felt unwelcome at any time here and I always know that there are so many available resources for me if I have any questions about anything. This is the perfect school to transition from high school to college because of how at home you feel wherever you go. I can honestly say that every day is a great day to be a Great Dane, and I truly do love this school for all that it offers and all that it provides to make each student the most successful they can be.

The University at Albany has a very welcoming environment for both resident and international students. There are a lot of clubs and organizations in which you can get involved. I personally have been involved in Dance Council, Musical Theater Association, and I am currently the treasurer for one of our A-Capella groups. I also think it is very easy to get around and find your classrooms. During my freshman and sophomore year I had to live on-campus, which was a great experience since it felt like the first step to living alone. I had to do my own laundry, clean my room, and take care of myself. I had access to a dining hall with a great variety of both healthy and unhealthy (but delicious) food, a gym, study rooms, and even a lounge! We also have a campus center where you can get other kinds of food, my personal favorite are The Halal Shack, Starbucks, and Argo Tea. In the future I am expecting to become a Research Professor, and this University is perfect for preparing me for that since there are a lot of research labs in which undergraduate students can get involved. Currently I am doing research on the oral microbiome with Dr. Alex Valm. I am really enjoying my time here and I feel like by the time I graduate I will be totally prepared for what comes next!

SUNY Albany is a good school. They're diverse and there's something here for everyone from different backgrounds, LGBTQ students, international students, transfer students, etc. The winter gets real in Albany which I'm not a fan of, but the underground tunnels are a great solution to that issue. They're also very big on supporting incoming students and giving them advisement and resources, so they don't have to figure everything out on their own. It's also at a great price especially for in-state students. Albany is also a metropolitan area so students can ride the city bus for free, and go to walmart, the mall, and into downtown quickly at no charge. There are also zip cars on campus.

The school is very diverse and has a ton of opportunities to get involved on campus. Many student clubs and organizations to choose from as well as many Greek organizations. In addition to the dining halls there are retail dining options offered and the location is at the center of many major cities.

This is a place for success stories. This was the only school I even applied to because it was the only school I could realistically see myself having a life for 4 years at. People rant and rave about their schools about what it has and what it can offer you, but I describe my school as home. Yes I've been here for 4 years to get my education, but I've also been LIVING here for 4 years. And in that time UAlbany has seen to it that I've had the opportunity to grow and thrive as a person. I am forever grateful for the impact this school has had on my life. I'm ready for anything.

UAlbany is a phenomenal university that is home to many wonderful experiences. The campus is beautiful, safe, and lively with many opportunities available to students who seek them. There are numerous student clubs and organizations to join in your free time. The professors I've had have all been passionate, knowledgeable, and helpful. I highly recommend this university. It is truly unbeatable considering its low cost!

Do not pass up on an opportunity to go to UAlbany. You will have so many opportunities to get involved and diversify yourself. UAlbany's reputation in the professional world is great, recruiters love coming here to speak and network with students. The professors are fantastic all around and are always willing to help you out. It is one big family here, with students always coming out for the many events per week. Trivia contests, free food, free giveaways, performances, sports games, it is all so much fun. Plenty to do off campus since we are in the state capital, certainly not in the middle of nowhere. UAlbany will teach you the skills you need to make you successful and will ensure you do well in life. I have learned so much in my classes and cannot wait to learn more. Diversity of programs allows for you to stand out and pursue something you may not have thought of. The university is very big on keeping up with current trends in society, and so they have new programs such as Forensic Accounting, Digital Forensics, Financial Market Regulation and Emergency Preparedness, Cyber security and Homeland Security. You will have a bright future if you come here!!

What is your overall opinion of this school?

UAlbany is like any other school that has their flaws, but the one thing that sets them apart is that they are always actively trying to improve the things students want. They listen to what we want, and try to make our living experience better in any way possible. UAlbany is always trying to be inclusive and if you go out to look for something of interest I can guarantee you will find it. The only way to not love college life here is if you make no effort to be a part of something.
