Self-motivation is key for success at Purchase. Some one who thrives in an artistic community full of off-beat, colorful, and generally wonderful people with get the most out of this school. Don't expect the school to 'make' you anything, though - it's an excellent forum, but it's not a technical school and it's not an Ivy League. You must work hard on your own to succeed.

This school caters to lower middle class artistically endowed individuals. It's very laid back in a hippie/stoner kind of way and I don't get the impression there are too many genuinely motivated and ambitious people. A lot of people from in and around the city who aren't really sure what they want to do and can't afford to find themselves at a more accessible ,resourceful institution end up here

Purchase is an interesting school. Most people who attend are more, artsy, with a lot of piercings and tattoos and dyed hair and all that... but there are a lot of people who aren't like that too. Really I'd recommend the school to anyone.
