Sports teams are pretty big here at Brockport, seeing as how we're a sport school. If you don't play sports (like me) then there's also Club Craze, that happens every semester. All the Club Sports and such are there and you can sign up for what interests you. In fact, I signed up for the Brockport Fencing my Freshman year at Club Craze. Events at Brockport are great. We just had Bill Nye as a guest speaker. Yes, you heard right. Bill Nye the Science guy graced us with our presence last week. We have tons of events, and a Fall and Spring concert. Students vote on who they want from a list of artists, and the most voted one is brought in. Since I've been here, we have had Motion City Soundrack, Wiz Kalifa, Mac Miller, and we were supposed to have the Goo Goo Dolls with Kinds of Leon (except extreme weather conditions forced BSG (Brockport Student Government) to shut that show down). How often do people party? Do you know the term "Thirsty Thursday"? Yeah, it's like we invented that term. Brockport is a major party school. Even the teachers are aware of this, and parties start Thursday night. Feel free to go out and have fun, but keep in mind, Brockport police have really stepped up their game and they will bust parties up. Speaking of parties, Brock-the-Port is the biggest party of the year. It's a celebration of students hard work at the end of the year. The school brings in carnival rides, blow-up rings (like a mechanical bull), there's endless food, and a concert. It's the best day of the year. Go wild. Have fun. Just remember, that finals follow up that awesome weekend. Don't drink? Totally fine. No one will make you drink. BSG has arranged with the local theater for $1 midnight movies on Friday. Not 7 month old movies either, just released films. Stuff in Brockport is cheap. They know this is a college town, and that students want cheap thrills. Plus BSG does Late Night events every weekend. Get a free massage, go do grocery bingo (Yes, that is the most competitive thing I have ever been to), or go see some stand up. It changes every week and it's FREE. Basically, there is always something to do at Brockport.
