People who are attending computer science program because a good amount of professors suck at teaching in this department and they don't help you in career building which they leave you one your own to do, my friends in all other schools got to fill out career forms for job hunting from their schools, why can't this one.
A person that shouldn't be caught dead at SUNY Old Westbury is a person who believes that names of schools mean everything .If you cannot find the hidden jems of goodness underneath something that doesnt look too great , this is not the school for you. When I asked for tips about surviving Old West I was told " It is what you make it" and this is 100% true. You should have the ability to take the good with bad. This school has given me experiences I could not of recieved elsewhere . A real diamond in the rough.
SUNY Old Westbury has a high school feeling to it, due to the small class sizes. If you're a student who wants the true college experience then this is NOT the school for you. Not many student attend school event, theres not much to do in the surrounding area and most students return back home on the weekends. So if you're big one going out and need a large and active social life then this is NOT the school for you.
This school is for eveyone. Especially if someone is undecided then this school is perfect for you because it has a range of different topics. If you want a specific study first make sure your school has it for you.
The kind of person that shouldn't attend this school is the kind of person who isn't a sociallable person or who isn't a dedicated student.
Someone who is easily distracted by other people should not attend this school. I believe that only the people who are able to stay focused and concentrated on their coursework would be able to function in this type of evviornment. This is more of a social enviornment rather than academic.
