SUNY Empire State College is an excellent school. I highly recommend attending this institution for a number of reasons. I returned to finish my college degree and obtain my bachelor's in Homeland Security. I found the enrollment process is easy as well as the application requirements were simple. I received an acceptance letter within the month of applying, which I did not have the anxiety of waiting months for a response. The school offers great support for new or returning students. For instance, SUNY provides a tutorial on how to use their platform and database, and for those students that will need a refresher, the tutorial is always available. For any changes to the platform, tutorials or FAQ's are available for guidance. The school's platform is also easy to use for everyone, including those that find technology challenging. I highly recommend the long distance option for busy adults that do not have time to sit in a classroom. Each course is flexible and does not require a specific login time. In addition, an academic advisor is provided for all students to assist in the transition to your new academic career. This is enforced with monthly meetings via phone, email, or Skype. This individual can assist with any obstacles with course selection and degree requirements for graduation. Moreover, the school offers academic coaches and tutors for students that need additional assistance. The professors are friendly and available for questions.

Since I am an online student from SUNY Empire State College, I cannot say much about the on-campus experience. But what I can say, is that regardless of your mode of study, SUNY Empire is there to bring the best possible education they can possibly offer you. Many of the classmates I share classes with are people who are trying to get an education that will help them improve their life. Whether it be parents, people who need to work full time jobs to make a living, or young adults, like myself, who just seem to fare better studying this way, SUNY Empire supports them. I have never been as excited about getting an education until I started at SUNY Empire. I am so glad and fortunate to be able to earn my degree through them!

When I first graduated high school, I was entering community college unsure of what I wanted to pursue. I felt rushed into plans, loans, and debt. This led to anxiety and depression issues I had in my late teens. I had to go through several colleges until I found one that was right for me. This college was the best choice I have made to pursue in obtaining a degree in such a long time. It took me a while to find a college that I can stick with and achieve goals. I would recommend this college to anyone.

Overall I believe is a great school. Professors are always answering and eager to help. Classes are smaller and the contracts are very clear and understanding. I am right now completing my Bachelors but afterward pursue my Masters. They also assigned you with a mentor to guide you through your educational journey. And they are rated #1 in student satisfaction, which I greatly appreciate every single day. Mostly for students like myself, who are a non-traditional student. Faculty and staff are always very generous, caring and very helpful. I seriously appreciate being told about this amazing school. Which you can maintain your regular life and still obtain your undergrad or grad degrees.
