Describe the students at your school.

No personal experiences with racial, religious, LGBT, socio-economic, and or other groups. I would say. Anyone that likes to have fun. Majority of students wear military khaki's because its a military college. The school is very segregated between civilian and regiment students. there are only 2. Most students are from long island. All people talk about is how they chose this school to become rich.

You usually end up finding about 3 or 4 kids that you end up hanging out with for the extent of your time here. and usually most other people are assholes. And if your a guy looking for cute girls, head somewhere else. The girls are either complete trolls or end up sleeping with half the school.

My experience with other groups on campus is great, i belong to amny clubs and groups at the school , and hey if the one you want doesnt exist then create it! people that attend this school come from many parts of the world, Turkey. the Bahamas, Puerto Rico , New York, Russia , Ukraine, Asia, etc..., no student will feel out of place at maritime evryone will always find that one group of people who they can associate with plus there are some ethnic clubs in school like the italian club, the turkish club, etc... where foreigners still get to share together and indulge in their cultures and sometimes we have international cuisines from different palces around the world in our messdeck to represent the different ethnicities that exist in our school.here there are no cliques , if so i havent noticed, everybody dines together, many people say civilians and regimental students dont get along, its a lie. if u walk up to tables in our dining hall the truth is obviously apparent, we are college students no matter what ur status in the school is. here sports kids can sing, swimmers can play the guitar, rotc kids know how to play piano , there is an array of people with amazing talents that even though , its not part of our school to have away to develop in them kids can bring to the table, during open mike night, talent shows, holiday concerts , band , chorale etc..financial backgrounds some people may be better off than others, some of us are on scholarships, others have loans but the school is not hard to afford you just have to want to be here. students here are definetly politically aware and each have their own opinions considering we are a quasi-military school politics have to be in there somewhere! here students definetly tal about how much they might earn some day and definetly dream, dreams, the education we are provided at this school sets us up for great opportunities in different industries, and students here definetly try to take as most advantage as they can.

Most are in the regiment, the non-reg population feels unwanted. Most from LI although there is a large contingent of Turkish students on campus. The retention rate is extremely low, roughly 50 percent for my class.

Maritime is immensely diverse. We have students from foreign countries and states and they're all wonderful. Being that most students are in the regiment, they're encouraged to make strong bonds. Much like in the army, comradership is encouraged; the group suffers together through all the downs and celebrates together through all the ups. Overall, because it is a love-hate relationship, in the end, we are proud to say we go to Maritime. (And hate it.)
