What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
You are the change that you want to be in the world. There are endless opportunities out there, if you open the doors to create those opportunities. Life is a journey, not a destination. Take time to sit and talk with people, you will learn so much from the wisdom and experience of others, so don't rush through situations. Always enter every experience with an open mind because you never know what new skill, fact, or story you will learn from the experience. Also, remember, you don't need to reinvent the wheel. Take your background knowledge and combine it with what you have you learned from others, so that you can apply it and make it better for a new experience.

The person who should attend Susquehanna should be an academic- wanting to get the best out of their education. They should be career-focused, like a small school setting, prefer one-one-one with professors. They should not expect a lot of social activity, especially off campus since this is also a small community. You should also want to be involved in volunteer work and organizations. Over the past few years as well as continuing into the future, my school as been growing in size by increasing the number of incoming freshman. I find this to be the worst part of my school because as a freshman I enjoyed how small the classes were . Small classes allowed for more discussion. The smaller the classes the more comfortable the class is with each other. As my classes have now grown in number the discussions have lessened. I have found that having the students talk with each other clarifies the material that is being taught.

I actually attended another university before transferring to Susquehanna my sophomore year. I found very unique characteristics at SU that I felt were better fit me me as a college student. I love that the class sizes were smaller than at my other university. This allowed for classes to be more of a personal discussion rather than a long boring lecture. The professors really make an effort to get know the students and it is very encouraging to me, knowing that they care so much about my success. I also loved the small town atmosphere that Susquehanna University offers me.

Read all 10 answers What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
What I might the most frustrating thing at school is something that is probably universal among colleges: incompetent professors. It doesn't happen often, but I've had one or two teachers who just didn't know their course material, and didn't know how to connect to students, and everyone in the class felt like the course was a chore they had to suffer through. But these professors tend not to last in the school, and the majority of professors know their field extremely well and skillfully connect with the students.
