Syracuse University is a great place to branch out and try new things. If you like hiking, sledding, or skiing it is a wonderful place for that, but make sure you are prepared for it to snow for half the year. Most of the professors are great. If you can get through the large class sizes the first two semesters, you get to experience intimate classroom settings where there is lots of discussion and time to ask questions. I love Syracuse and if given the chance would chose to go there again. The people are amazing and there is always an opportunity to try something new on campus (especially with the Orange After Dark Program), so I highly recommend Syracuse.

I love attending Syracuse University. There are bad days here but that is inevitable. I've met some of the best people here and lifelong friends. It takes a while to find your niche but you find your people eventually. College is what you make it wherever you go.

I love Syracuse University and I feel so privileged to be able to attend. My professors and classes are amazing and I look forward to learning new things every semester. The Syracuse feel around campus is always encouraging, exciting, and embracing. I feel connected to everyone here through our love of Syracuse, orange, and the winter.

Great University with strong alumni, athletics, and professors with deep knowledge and a passion for education. The campus, although large is walkable and centrally located, with many University focused shops, restaurants and bars. The University is highly regarded and well respected in the North East.

It's ok. Too expensive and not enough funding to aid students to complete their program. I am an off campus student that is taking courses online. The professors are very difficult to reach. They are only available via email, and I still cannot find their email written on any documentation. The textbook relationship seems like a scam. I'm a 1980's child, and having a physical textbook for the class is comfortable for me. ALL classes require the use of an online textbook system, that is required to purchase in order to have access to the home works. I have to pay for the online book to have access to the homework and exams, then I have to buy a physical copy to be able to annotate in a way that I'm comfortable. Therefore, I'm paying twice for the same thing.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

I am a Musical Theatre Major in the Drama Department at Syracuse University. The acting portion of the MT program is the focus of the three areas. We take a class called "Core" freshman year that is a combination of 4 essential acting classes. We take two different voice classes, a movement class, and a technique class. We focus first on working as a group and discovering how our bodies work and how we can improve our control. There is also an Intro to Theater class where we learn how to analyze plays and empathize with characters. Syracuse is also known for having a great voice and dance program. We take private voice lessons with the best coaches that understand the physics behind the voice and they explain it in very interesting ways! We learn how to be healthy and maintain the longevity of our voices in our career. We also study IPA and anatomy of the human body to better understand how everything affects our voice and production of sound. The thing I love most about Syracuse is the family feeling. It’s a large university but you step foot into the Drama building and you immediately feel like you belong. Everyone loves you even before you arrive and it's so wonderful to experience the sense of pride students maintain about their work and the community we work so hard to maintain. Everyone loves each other and wants each other to succeed. We also have a partnership with Syracuse Stage, which is an equity theater, so if you get cast in a show enough times you could graduate already having your equity card! They treat everyone professionally and under the equity union standards because they want us to be as ready as possible for the professional world and familiar with our methods of to the time management. The final, and often unknown, perk of being a Syracuse Drama Student is the Tepper Semester Program. This program happens your final semester of your senior year. You spend the semester living in New York City getting a head start on meeting with agents and casting directors, working one on one in workshops, and auditioning for upcoming shows. It creates a seamless transition from college into the real world for the Performing Arts Majors and allows us to carry that sense of family into the next, exciting chapters of our life.

As a first year, I am thoroughly pleased as to how much they have to offer here. Like there are tons and tons f resources here from metal health spaces to free tutoring in a bunch of subjects! Even though the campus is pretty large, it doesn't feel that huge when you are able to see a few faces more than one time a day. Also, the school spirit is off the walls !!!! during the football and basketball games. Overall I would give Syracuse an A-, I wished they embraced more minorities with it being a predominately white institution.

Syracuse is overall a great school. Granted, I am still in my first semester, but I think I have a good judgement so far of the school. The classes I have taken are great and I like my professors and TA’s. It feels like they are really here to help us learn. Syracuse is in a nice location, there is plenty of restaurants and shops in walking distance and an amazing mall is only a short ride away. Syracuse also has a great social life. There is always something going on on campus. Everyone is really friendly with each other. Going along with that, greek life is pretty big and many people join to make friends. Another thing that is very prevalent on campus is sports. Football games are when everyone gets together to support the oranges. But if you don’t like sports, there are countless clubs and other ways to get involved on campus. There are clubs for the arts, political clubs, religious clubs, and more. Syracuse is a community where you can find exactly what you’re looking for. You can find classes that interest and challenge you intellectually, clubs to meet people with similar views or people who enjoy the same things, greek life to make lifelong friendships, and an overall welcoming and fun experience. I honestly don’t have many complaints from my time here. The campus is beautiful and I am getting a great education. I couldn’t have asked for anything more from my college freshman experience, and I know it’s only going to get better from here.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Syracuse University has a 3 million virtual aerospace engineering facility where students can help design a reusable space launch vehicle. Syracuse is my number one choice because students can take part in NASA's reduced gravity flight program. Syracuse University prides itself on personalized instruction, 41 percent of an engineering course have a class fewer than 20 students. The best thing a student like me could often do is build a close relationship with my professors.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

I love the academics of the school, and I love the opportunity it provides me. The size of the school is something that, to some, might feel intimidating. However, after two full semesters here, you start to realize that the amount of students do not affect your learning in a negative way. Instead, I find that due to the large size of the school, i am able to meet new people every week and to interact with a plethora of different types of people, introducing me to new cultures and ideas.
