Well Syracuse University is huge and there are thousands of students here, what is unique about it though is how accomadating the school is to each and every single student, you would think it would be hard to accomadate over 12,000 students but nope, not for SU!

There is alot of school spirit at this school evern if our teams dont do as well. The amount of help that is given in this school really helps students adujst and feel comfortable. Syracuse University was the right choice for me first and for most because of its academics. Syracuse has well-known academic programs, which are demonstrated in the university?s prestigious name. Besides the academic side of the University, the area of Syracuse itself is another reason I was drawn to this school. The university itself has a sense of community from within; everyone is friendly and willing to socialize. While outside the university, the community is a widely diverse community situated within an urban setting. The setting was the main reason I chose Syracuse University.

Yong

Our school offers a lot more majors than other colleges. Students at Syracuse University really take advantage of this characteristic to find the profession they want to enter after trying many different classes.

Christine

Syracuse University is unique in so many different ways. I say that because Syracuse is full of diversity. I walk around campus and i see a variety of students not just one race. Not only is there diversity but there are so many programs that exist for students such as HEOP, SSP, OLU and many more. Organizations on campus for students allow opportunities for the future like internships, jobs, or even more organizations that help students prepare for interviews, setup resumes and maintain a great job. Syracuse is a place where no one is left behind nor are they unaccepted.

Jessica

Although it seems large in terms of students attending and actual campus size, it can feel very small with the people you interact with and the things you actually do on campus

Lorena

Well first starters, Syracuse University is welcoming and in other schools one does not feel that way at all. Also academics, to me it seems as if the classes im taking provide much more help so one could better themselves in writing, economics, math or calculus, so it seems as if no matter what class i take, there would always be someone there to help me. Also the pride that students have in being in this school. Also we have the best communication's program.

toni

This school was the perfect distance from home; it allowed me to be far enough away but still have the ability to go home when necessary. The academics are held in very high regard at this school and provides for better chances of getting a job post graduation.

Karen

This school makes you work hard for what you want. Most of my friends tell me that it's easy for them to switch majors or decide to study something else, or the such. Here at Syracuse, if you want to switch a Broadcast Journalist major you better make sure you can earn an accumulative 3.5+GPA to get into the school for Public Communications. Same with if you want to switch to Business Management, there are a lot of academic requirements. This is what I love, the intensity, the hard work to get where you want.

Tuso

Being in a classroom where students from different social classes, ethnicities, and college campus statues can come together and bound rather than just be bodies in a room, is the unique opportunity that is offered at Syracuse University compared to other schools.

Kirsten

I believe that Syracuse University is rich in diversity, everywhere you go you are destined to fine someone from a place that some times you don't even know where in a map is it. A s a result, you learn lots of interesting things about each person's culture. For example, i'm living in S.U's Multicultural Living Learning Community and i have the chance to interact with people from China, Korea, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, The Dominican Repoblic, India, Ecuador, and many more countries. S.U is THE WORLD in One place.

Jonathan

The School of Information Studies (iSchool) at Syracuse Unvisersity is one of the best, if not the best, information technolgy school in the country. The professors are always there to help with everything, even classes outside of the iSchool. Best of all, there is a substantial amount of career opportunity.

Being one of the only ABA accredited Paralegal programs in the Upstate NY area, I was really impressed with the structure of the program that it offered.

Rachel

The tours and everything is to sell the school. They're good to go to, but you don't know what a school is like until you attend it. Syracuse is a good school if you like basketball, partying, greek life, the arts, and are from the east of California. If you fit into any of those, then you'll be fine. On another note, the hills are bad. And there's no sun.

Claire

Syracuse University is unique because it offers so much, not only in the classroom but also outside of it. There are so many clubs to join, activities for everyone!

Although the campus is pretty large, we are a close knit community and students tend to know each other very well.

Though it's large, there are a few colleges within the University that are very specific and have great departments that give more of a "conservatory training" which allow for more specialized and specific learning environments.

The faculty is really astounding--some of the top professionals in their fields, and there is so much to do here, sponsored by the school, all the time.

It's in a large enough city to do things outside of campus, but not too large to lose that campus feel.

Katherine

My school is very diverse. I like the number of international students. There is a lot of school spirit especially during basketball and lacross season.

Katie

The weather here is always rainy, cloudy, or snowing. There are a lot of people who go to the school but it seems as though you can't go anywhere without seeing someone you know. A lot of intro classes and popular majors have really large classes but smaller majors and upper level classes are much smaller. There are lots of activities available to participate in at the school but you really need to seek them out on your own.

Dorothy

My school is not necessarily unique from all the other schools I considererd, it is the perfect size, it has beautliful builidngs, friendly faculty, and a diverse community, it has a little bit of everything, and allows everyone to stay well rounded.

Jeffrey

Our basketball games are very fun. Many students come out and support the team with school spirit.

Katie

Our school is great because there is lots of on and off campus housing. Off campus housing is really close to campus and many juniors and seniors live off campus. The weather is awful, but everyone still makes the most of it. You can walk from one end of campus to the opposite in ten minutes, and there are buses that run regularly, even on weekends. There's a large greek life but you aren't a nobody if you're not in it. On any given day you will see at least ten people wearing orange.

Syracuse is a middle sized school, with the look and feel of a larger university. You can find just about any major and all sorts of different people. The school has a little bit of everything, solid academics, Big East sports, strong greek life and countless extracurricular opportunites. The community is very involved with the school, everyone just loves CUSE!

joomi

very diversed and people are very nice and sweet in general. Everyone gets along very well

Courtney

Syracuse has an unbelievable communications program, which is why I first became interested in applying there. There is a very impressive alumni list as well. I feel confident about my future when I see the names on that list. Knowing extremely successful people attended the university I attend gives me some peace of mind when thinking about the tuition costs.

Skylar

I hated my first semester at SU. It was big and felt displaced. By my second semester, however, I loved SU. I came to like the freedom that SU's size allows me and I love my major, my professors, and my friends. I like that I can wake up one morning and start a club or a volunteer program. I like that there is always something going on. You can be a normal person at SU, we just keep a low profile. If you can get past the sorority girls you'll be fine. If you are a sorority girl you may die of joy.

Natalie

Syracuse is worth every penny.

Joe

Syracuse is the shit! Atleast visit and you'll see what im talking about! Beware, the winters are horrific-it gets so cold and wet and gross, but its worth it in the end and by spring you will be sunbathing on the quad cuz it gets close to 76-80 degrees!!

Jen

Syracuse is amazing. You will absolutely love it.

Robin

SU is what you make of it but I can say that it's been an awesome place to go to college.

Dawson

Be prepared to put up with a lot of incompetent professors. There are amazing ones, but Syracuse is more focused on how published its professors are and what kind of respect they command than whether or not they actually know (or care) about how to teach.

Lisa

Syracuse really pushes study abroad. The program is a little disorganized at time, but they get everything accomplished (so really, it prepares you well for studying in countries like France where everyone is disorganized.) Despite a little disorganization, study abroad gives students an amazing experience that I wouldn't trade for anything. It was amazing. Again, the honors program is outstanding. It isn't easy to get in to, but for students like me who came to Syracuse as a safety school, it really makes the academic experience more than worthwhile.

Blake

There is nothing I can tell anyone that they couldn't or wouldn't find out for themselves. A year at the school will teach a person a lot about others, themselves and the world.
