Describe the dorms.

Erlina

The dorms are what you make of them. I lived in the oldest crappiest dorm for lack of a better word, but we had a really nice community and I enjoyed my time there a great deal. It just depends on how open you want to be with your space.

The dorms at Temple University are very nice, for the most part. They are all located either on or within a block of campus. There is front-desk security, and some dorms have cafes located inside for the ultimate convenience. Also, the dorms provide a great atmosphere for students to make new friends.

Ali

I actually live off-campus. But, I know from my friends that Temple dorms are great, comfortable, and fullfill their expectations.

The dorms at Temple are pretty great. I lived in 1940 my freshamn year. I liked this dorm because, it's one pf the best freshman dorms on campus also I liked how it was suite style. I lived with 3 other girl. Me and one girl shared a room and my suitemates were in the other room. We shared a bathroom but it was cool to have our own bathroom and not use commutial bathrooms. Also 1940 is right on campus, you can't miss it. It was easy and fast to get to class and I like getting to class on time. I like convience. So if your looking for convience choose 1940.

I can’t really speak to the dorms as I didn’t live in them. What I can say is that if living at school is your thing, keep in mind that Temple only lets students live on campus in their Freshman and Sophomore years. After that you move off campus. There are lots of living areas close to campus but they aren’t cheap. The best bet is to go in with 2 or 3 other students and rent a place – there are many close by.

There are lots of different places to live on campus. In my opinion the best place to live as a freshman is Johnson and Hardwick because it is located above the dining area and it has the largest number of freshmen living in it. Other great buildings to live in are 1300, Temple Towers, and 1940 are in great locations. Peabody is specifically for Art Students ( I think!) and White Hall is a really nice facility but it is far from classes.

It depends on where you are. I was in 1940 which is a 4-person suit style dorm. 1940, White Hall, The Edge, and 1300 are all set up like that and are very nice. J&H are two-person rooms with communal bathrooms (just renovated so they are nice). Peabody is the only one I would say is the one to avoid. It needs to be updated! There is also Temple Towers, but that is for upperclassman.
