Temple University Top Questions

What's the Greek scene like?

Briannon

The fraternity scene is definitely stronger than the sorority scene. There are four or five official sororities on campus, but frats definitely get more pledges. Fraternities host many great events that are usually very, very crowded, and sororities are always seen fundraising for their various causes.

Greek life is big on our campus. There might not be a typical Greek row of houses since we're in the city, but you will find them if you take a walk up Broad or Diamond. And you will see plenty of people everyday with their Greek apparel on. It's a great way to meet friends and make lasting friendships.

Jennifer

I personally was not in Greek life but I know plenty of people who have joined. Temple has tons of different frats and sororities, there are also more specific greek houses that apply to minority groups, or academic groups.

Greek Life is a small portion of the student body, but has a big presence on campus. You will get people with mixed reviews. I am a sister of one of the Panhel Sororities at Temple. We all participate in a lot of community service and do a lot of events for Temple as well. We have to maintain a certain GPA in order to stay in good standings. We balance school and enjoying ourselves well.
