Temple University Top Questions

There are many different types of students at the school, so I can not say there is a stereotype that encompasses everyone at Temple.

There are many different groups of students at Temple, and while each group has its own stereotypes, there is no overarching stereotype of Temple students.

Which one? There are tons! Mainly I hear complaints about the Hipsters in Tyler or the frat boys and frat rats everywhere else, but there's some more... ethnically-centered ones too. Also, people assume that just because it's pretty easy to get into Temple the academics aren't strong.

That Temple is in the ghetto and it's easy to get in.

Temple students are not known to be the brainiest bunch. Unfortunately this is true. There are also alot of scary looking big goon types. Not a safe campus in a very bad neighborhood too.

They are student that failed to go to more prestigious colleges.

Some stereotypes about TU are that the majority of its students are minorities or that they all come from Philly.

The only one would be the "anyone can get into Temple" attitude towards the school and it's students.

If you go to Temple you'll get shot...bc of the neighborhood it's in.

This school is in the ghetto and most of the students live really close, so they end up going home on a lot of the weekends.

The school is in a horrible neighborhood. The students aren't of a good quality.

The stereotypes, at least those held by non-students, are fairly negative. The big four would be that it's a school for those who couldn't get into Penn State, it's a school only for people from the area, it's a commuter school, and the campus is very unsafe.

We're all ghetto and mostly black.
