It's a wonderful school to attend, with many opportunities for students to be the best they can. The school offers amazing services for all the students and cares for them. There is almost always something going on around campus and many different groups and clubs to join.

Jenny - 07/22/2021

Overall, it is just a mediocre state school. It wasn't a bad experience but at the same time it's nothing special. Tech is generally known for being a engineering/science school. You can definitely see this when looking at the engineering buildings since they get all the funding. The rest of campus is old and falling apart. For any other major, the facilities looks like garbage. For food there is a cafeteria that serves low quality hotel style food, and then like four fast food places that are always incredible crowded. The one good thing is that it is generally a safe school, which is probably due to the fact no one actually lives in the area. Putnam county as a whole has nothing to do or see. The city is a ghost town on the weekends once everyone leaves, so if you are expecting a night life here, good luck. Overall, if you want a cheapish, mediocre state school that any one can get into tech is for you. Personally, I would have just went to an online school, would be cheaper and more opportunities.

Tennessee Tech was never on my radar when looking at schools in high school. However, I knew it was the right choice for me when looking at the size of the school. There are ample clubs to attend. Although the football team was not the best, the women's soccer, men's and women's basketball, and rugby teams were fun to watch with friends. The professors were great and knowledgeable. They always had an open-door policy. Maintaining friendships is what was difficult.

Alex - 01/05/2021

The school itself has trivial qualities to boast with its mediocre dorms that makes me realize how commodious my closet is back home, lab equipment decrepit from the constant mistakes of nearly being caught ablaze, and the buzzing of construction work everyday 8 am sharp. With numerous flaws ubiquitous to the university, I give it a five star rating. Because these are not the qualities I sought out for my college experience. Under a Covid-19 pandemic I am proud to be a rising Golden Eagle because I never felt like I was ostracized like High School. Instead of facing rejection every corner I turned, opportunity slammed me to my back, forcing me to stare at the millions of stars above, realizing I am not the only one who has to solve the ordeals hindering humanity from forming a mark on the disparity rampant all around us. I was at the edge of transferring colleges until I neared the end of my first semester and had an epiphany. Colleges are merely structures brought together with callous brick and apathetic steel. Meant to house the genuinely salient brains inside like a skeleton provides aegis for the precious organs inside. The students do their part by perpetually adapting despite the challenges bubbling up to match every step forward. I felt chained in place building my own barrier by lacking the ability to abandon the discord swelling in the confines of my mind. I came from High school with an extraordinarily high GPA and ACT score of 32. I stepped through the doors thinking I was going to conquer anything I had to face with ease. When college started, fate had alternate plans. It used me as a map to pinpoint exactly what not to do once Covid's carnage consumed the year. My grades began to collapse along with my confidence. I had no friends either leaving me without a confidant to vent my frustrations too. Anxiety bursting through my chest along with the humiliation of failure looming over me. I was ready to succumb to the apprehension spawned by aberrations outside of my control. A unique Doctor with the name Dr. Reznyack altered my perspective to something more tangible. He dragged me out of the cage by becoming the key to something greater. He showed me I was broken down to be built into something enhanced. Resilience the reward for surviving such a transition. Transmutation every step I took into what once was the abyss, an oblivion I couldn't comprehend. When he became my torch, the flare blinded me. Not from the light but from how dark it was before. Unveiling the curtain to show me the shadows don't always conceal atrocities deemed unreal. What was hidden from me was hope. The knowledge it was going to get better. Due to the stellar professors, especially the one described, Tennessee Tech has the heart needed to become a phenomenal college. Each beat providing a chance for all the other students to thrive. This university is the beacon for minds thinking they have no where else to escape reality. Escaping reality never was the intention, it was to get an idea how to change it into something we can all adore.

Tennessee Tech stole my heart as soon as I visited the campus. The education that this school offers is something that cannot be described accurately only using words. I have dreamed to do something in the medical field such as being a pharmacist, and Tennessee Tech absolutely has the best Pre-Professional program around. Pharmacy schools love TTU students because they are always well-prepared for the challenges faced in graduate programs like Medical School and Pharmacy School. The campus is good-sized but not too small. I love everything about this school.

The nursing path at Tennessee Tech University is a very grueling career choice to make. I would have loved to know just what that statement entailed, because just choosing the students that have a 4.0 GPA is a very silly choice to make by this college.
