If you are at college for all of the wrong reasons you shouldn't waste your time and go to this college or any other college. College is a place where you are supposed to stretch your mind and expand on what you already know, not a place to slack off be lazy and go out and party. If that's all your at college for you will quickly be weeded out and drop out. This college especially pushes you to the limit to make yourself the person you've always wanted to be.

Texas State is diverse and is home to many different types of people so it would be hard to specify who shouldn't attend the school. Althoughl I can use my roomate as an example since she decided to go back home after her first semester. She was more focused on having fun than on pursuing the acedemic aspect of the college experience, and while it is healthy to put yourself out there and have a good time, it is still importnant to find a balance. My roomate let her grades slip and began to wish she was back home.

Efrain

Close-minded people should not go to Texas State because it is a diverse campus. As a Hispanic serving institute Texas State tries to bring diversity to its campus. I am a fist generation college student and I had a lot of getting use to. It was a difficult but Texas State does a great job to allow students like me to adjust to the college transition by having programs in place that help first generation college students. Anyone who does not like equality would not be able to fit in well at Texas State.

I honestly can't think of a "type" of person who shouldn't attend Texas State. It is a very diverse college with people from all walks of life. There is also a wide variety of clubs, organizations, and fraternities to become a part of to make friends with similar interests as you. Many students here are very friendly and accepting, those are actually two of the main things students are talked to about at orientation. They encourage everyone to be open to other people's opinions and to accept those different from you.

Texas State is very diverse and offers something for everyone, so it is a great school for all types of people. However, it is a school for those students who want to educate themselves and are there to learn. In all honesty someone who is completely focused on work and academics. This school is very social and doesn't have a lot of Friday classes. So once Thursday arrives everyone forgets they're in school and just go out and party or hang out with friends. I have had trouble focusing on my school work many times so someone who is all about academics should not come here.
