I love taking classes at Tech. Saving my brain!! The professors are usually willing to help out. I am a long distance student so I don’t typically go on campus. The times I have gone I felt safe walking to my car. It’s a beautiful campus. Go Tech!

Being apart of Texas Tech University is a great opportunity. They have many ways to succeed. You can find tutoring and help from peer or professors anytime. Not only is the academics great but also the game day atmosphere is amazing. The city is also great. It is definitely a college town and has many opportunities for its students.

I'm in the doctoral program and the best thing about Texas Tech thus far has been the big campus feel with the small-town atmosphere. This is a large university but the professors are connected to their students and available throughout the day and semester.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Texas Tech is a very good school. There are so many opportunities to pursue and everyone here is completely driven to succeed. One of the main reasons I have decided to attend Texas Tech and transfer from The Univesity of Texas at San Antonio is because of the reputation of the school; it is a Tier One school.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

There are so many reasons someone should attend Texas Tech, but I suppose I will narrow it down to three. The top reason to attend Texas Tech is that this school houses a multitude of majors. This means that it gives a lot of options for it's students, as well as options for those who are not sure exactly what they want to major in. The second reason someone should attend Texas Tech is that because of the wide array of majors, which means there is the opportunity to meet all kinds of people. It's nice to be able to talk to people who share your interests, but it's also great to have minds that think differently. It makes for wonderful friendships! The third and possibly most superficial is that the campus is absolutely beautiful. While many people say the school is in the middle of nowhere, the campus itself is so pretty. During the winter they always have the carol of lights, which makes the campus that much more beautiful. As superficial as it may be, it doesn't hurt going to a "pretty" school.

While Lubbock is known for its dust and isolated landscape, the city is a hub of intellectual activity. The presence of the university has encouraged the development of an engaged and innovative arts scene; local artists, patrons, and students come together every month for the First Friday Art Trail, a community event that provides opportunities for artists from K-12 to established visiting artists. The flat landscape, that has inspired artists such as Georgia O'Keefe, continues to foster deep ties to the land; The university is home base for programs such as Land Arts—where university students from across the nation come to spend a semester working on individual projects while hiking across the landscape of the American Southwest. It is also home to numerous museums, galleries, artist studios, and archaeological sites that are available to students. The small size of the city provided a blank canvas for student activity; I founded an Arabic Language organization that was strongly encouraged by the community, and, through this organization, we managed to raise funds for the IRC and host movie pre-screenings and discussion forums. We were also used as a resource for local organizations during the last election. This tight-knit community and Texas Tech provided me with one of the most amazing experiences of my life.

I love Texas Tech, there's so much to do and the college experience here is the best their can be. Living on campus is what i would recommend. There is a lot of things for students to go do, such as drive in movies, bowling, tons of outdoor sports for students to just have fun with. Students here are very nice and accepting. Really easy to make friends and enjoy college life while still getting a great education.

Texas Tech is a great school with amazingly friendly people. If you're a city person who needs to move to a smaller town with not as many distractions, Lubbock is the place for you! The classes are a pretty decent size depending on the class you're taking, but overall the professors in the classes are super nice and always willing to help anything out.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

I have a sister who attends, therefore I visit about 5-6 times a semester. All I can say is that Tech has had me in love since day one. For someone who doesn't even attend, I have never felt so a part of something. The people are amazing, the energy on and of campus...amazing. I am a city girl but Tech is the only college city I could and ever will love. I am attending in the fall and it is the most excited I have felt in my whole life. If you are thinking of attending...think no more. Every college has its faults but Texas Tech as close to perfect!

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Texas Tech University far exceeded my expectations. Being an African American coming to a PWI, I wasn't sure how to feel but now with only a few weeks left of my freshman year I can honestly say I wouldn't choose any other University. The students are very friendly and welcoming as well as professors and staff. My only complaint would be the weather and surrounding area. I am from the Dallas, Texas which is heavily populated and well stocked with things to do. Lubbock is not filled with alot of activities for young college students, which is why alcohol and drugs scene are favored. The weather doesn't know what season it wants to be in, raining one day, cold the next, then hot all in one day or sporadically throughout the week.
