Texas Tech University is the best possible university I could attend. The professors are always willing to help students out with difficult information in their class. Texas tech professors are very compassionate, if one of their students is going through something personal that is affecting their school work, the professor with help the stident work through it.The campus is beautiful and the students who attend are some of the nicest people I have met.

I have just completed my freshman year at Texas Tech University. Lubbock as a whole is a very college oriented town that works well with Texas Tech and its students. Texas Tech is a school that is academically challenging. However, they do provide students with electives that are a nice break from core curriculum or major- oriented classes. My favorite part of Texas Tech academics is that they require students to take classes that expand their cultural knowledge, such as some majors requiring students to study abroad. In addition, the school provides an ample amount of resources for students to get the help they need in order to succeed. It is a lively campus which always has events taking place, offering students free food and fun activities all throughout the year. The city of Lubbock although seemingly small, has many activities for students to partake in on their down time (it literally has so many restaurants).

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Texas Tech is not a very diverse campus (in terms of students), but they do offer lots of opportunities to join diverse groups on campus. The party life thrives at Texas Tech, but academics remains important to most students. In my opinion, Texas Tech offers a lot of opportunities to excel more than any other campus I've seen.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

I was unsure at first about attending my current University, Texas Tech, because I am a fourth generation student here. My great-grandfather, grandmother, grandfather, mother and father all attended Texas Tech University for their undergraduate degrees, and I always felt that I should branch out and try something different than my family. That all changed from the moment I stepped foot on this campus. I expected a boring community and that new experiences would be few and far in-between, but I was astounded by how wrong I was. Since starting here I've learned more than I could have ever imagined and made a ton of new friends. I've had to work harder than ever before to achieve academic excellence, and I've been encouraged to join several organizations such as the Ballroom Club and the Women's Chorale. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better college experience thus far, and I would recommend Texas Tech University to anyone considering a 4-year university in Texas. Texas Tech may have been a huge part of my heritage, but now it's my home - by choice!

I love my school and have waited to become a Red Raider since I was 11. My brother and sister both attending Texas Tech - one is now a NICU nurse and the other a sports television producer. I want to become a physical therapist and Texas Tech has been a supportive and excellent school for all of our goals. The school is really like a family and the faculty very concerned about its students' futures.

I love attending school at Texas Tech University, the faculty has been great working with and I see myself being proud of where I obtained my bachelor’s degree from. I am not a traditional student and I work a regular 40 hour work week so some semesters can be hard to work classes into my work schedule. Texas Tech University tuition is also rather pricey and for a student that has never been able to receive federal grants it is becoming a struggle to pay for schooling.

The campus at Texas Tech is indescribable. I notice another beautiful statue every time I walk to class with an inspirational quote. Texas Tech is also true to its alumni which I LOVE. Not only do they have an insanely large alumni association who basically run the entire school but they also have their names plastered on everything. Literally. It's like they spend 4 years teaching you that you will be the biggest has been in the U.S. Personally, this is one of the reasons I loved Tech but if school spirit isn't your thing, I would definitely not choose Tech. Also, the amount of unsportsmanlike chants the student body yells at the game is atrocious. However, it wouldn't be Tech without the "We will hit 'em, we will wreck 'em, we will fucking kick your ass!" Stay classy Raiders.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Texas Tech University, deep set in the Heart of Texas, is a school rooted in the basis of creating opportunities for its students through education. Not only is it a school wherein each program is uniquely built to support and fully prepare its students, it's a place where most Professors truly put forth the effort to fully know and offer help to their students. Particularly because it sits in the deep South, football plays a huge role in the culture of the university and weekends on campus revolve around the frenzy of the game . On the opposite side of the spectrum, the city of Lubbock is settled within an area of deeply rich art culture and celebrates this every first Friday of the month with an Art Trail dedicated to the artists and galleries within the county. Because of this art culture, it's easy to conceive how the university has such a budding Visual and Preforming Arts program. With a multimillion dollar 3D Art Annex, the facilities and professors that contribute to the program continue to help it grow and gain more acclaim as each year passes. On the front of social life, Texas Tech maintains a large party culture during the weekends, and Greek life is incredibly present on campus. Overall, Texas Tech University is a top notch college experience with something for everyone. On the lower end of the spectrum in regards to tuition cost, TTU is the place to get the most bang for your buck. Though not as well known as others, Texas Tech is my university of choice and perfectly summed up in the school's own slogan: From here, it's possible!
