My school is located in west Texas in a relatively small city. It is not surrounded by large citys and would not be a good choice for someone who likes city life. However it is a good choice for someone who likes rural living.

Lauren

The reason I chose Tech over other schools was because of the balance between academics and athletics. Sports have always been a huge part of my life so a school that allowed me to pursue my goals while enjoying athletics was important to me.

Nicole

Texas Tech is unique to me because of the size of the classrooms and how much the professors really do care about you. Most of my classes are confined to 30 students. This allows there to be more one on one critiques with your professor. It also allows you to develop a relationship with your professor, so if you need extra help or tutoring they would be willing to do so.

Texas Tech University police go on patrol to keep campus safe.

One of the things that I think is unique about Texas Tech is the fact that you get the feeling of being at a big campus but at the same time you get the feeling of being at a smaller school as well. Since Tech is somewhat of a younger sibling to UT and A&M, students do a good job of making the campus a fun and spirited environment.

I will be a lifelong fan and supporter of Tech because of the great experience I have had there. It's a place to get away for a couple of years and meet friends you will have for life. Most of the bad things you will hear about Tech are from close minded people who have never been to West Texas and never grow out of there high school life near their hometowns. Being in the only big city for hours around means everybody is looking for friends and you will meet people from all over. The weather is great if you can get over an occasional dust storm and rare southeastern wind which brings the smell of the cattle lot into town. This accounts for most complaints you will hear. The town of Lubbock is getting better each year, with blocks of new apartments accross from the football stadium offering a perfect college atmosphere. Theres a saying "Lubbock or Leave It" which I find perfect to tell people because everyone I know either falls in love with Tech or doesn't ever give it a chance.

Alex

I am so glad i chose Texas Tech for college. I have had a blast so far and I'd encourage anyone who wants to get an education and have the time of their life to go to Texas Tech!

Jamie

Final advice- Don't judge Tech on Lubbock. Lubbock it's not as easy on the eyes as say somewhere along the coast, but the campus is what makes Lubbock. Tech was not my first choice but once I came here and saw the campus, met the people and got involved I absolutely loved it!! I was the best choice I could have made. If you come for a visit definitely check out Spanky's, they have the best fried cheese sticks in the world. Chimy's is a bar on Broadway and it is known for some of the strongest margaritas and the best place to go when you’re done with class on a Friday afternoon. Cactus Courtyard, Blue light, JFK's, Bar PM, Crickets and Rocky La Rue's are the most popular bars. You're guaranteed a good time, live music, and lots of drinks and dancing. T.C. Ellis, Chrome, and All About Moi can satisfy any shopping urges you might have.

Elizabeth

I feel that the Texas Tech campus is extremely secure. I felt safe living on campus...even knowing that other colleges were being shot at. I believe that Tech is a great college and I am proud to be a Red Raider.

Ryan

You either love Tech immediately or you hate it and have to get out immediately. There's really no inbetween. Most people love it, though.

Cody

I am enjoying my college experience so much,I have made alot of new friends & am incvolved so much at TTU.THe communtiy is like an extension of the University & they are always ready & willing to help. They First Year College Program was so helpful & really helped me with study habits & such. My fraternity was there to help & really made feel like I belong.

Ashley

Don't come here if you are looking for something exciting. There is nothing exciting about this place. The most fun I had is when I did a congressional internship through TTU. I worked in Washington DC in the House of Reps. for a congressman. TTU has a great setup for students in that program. Come here if you like to: wear ugg boots and shorts, say "bro", "dude," "boss," and other typical frat words, if you like to fake tan, bleach your hair, at like an idiot, be a slut, get arrested for drunk driving (this is a try town you will be making trips out into the country for beer and it sucks), be made fun of by people that go to other bigger universities that actually win sporting events, live in the middle of a dirt field, like the smell of cows and like the smell of oil, want to meet some of the biggest creepers you have ever seen, and if you want to go greek.

Connie

I have nothing else to say. This school is amazing, but isnt for everyone. Its all about people.

craig

come to tech you won't regret it.... unless you are a square who doesn't know how to have fun and need "traditions" to help you do so.

Audrey

Conclusion: Texas Tech will pretty much rock your world! Come experience the boondocks of NW Texas where you might possibly see your first tumble weed...LOL! Tech is also perfectly located if you like to ski or snow board since we are only an hour away from Ruidoso!

andrew

the people in power seem to spend money on things that don't really matter

Allison

If you ever decide to go to Tech be aware all aggies and sooners alike will instantly not like you forever, no lie. Football is king at Texas Tech we take it seriously and we have an awesome program.

Brittany

The city itself can be kinda gross. Get ready for dust storms and high wind. Don't wear lipgloss because dust will stick to your mouth and its disgusting. The campus is really pretty though especially in the spring and summer months. If you are looking into architecture, this is the best place to go, it's intense, but really worth it.

Jessica

Go Tech!

Melissa

I love Tech and am so grateful for my four years at this university.

Edgar

I've only been at Tech for two years and I have already experienced so much... it's insane how much I have been blessed to be at this school... I love it and I can't see my self anywhere else but here... there is nothing else like thorwing up the Guns before a Big Game or whenever...

Colin

I seriously think that Cindy Mo should be evaluated or something because I really dont think she communicates well enough.

Owen

Its a good school, could be preppyer tho.

Jamie

I love Texas Tech and all that it has to offer; there really is something for everyone. It is the best University in the world and has tons of school spirit and pride. From here, it's possible!

Harper

The only thing that was left out is just a piece of advise. In the case that you do not agree with anything on campus, voice your opinion and stand by your opinion if you feel it is representing you, an organization, the campus or anything wrongly. It takes strength to fight for what you believe in and too many back down in the face of authority.

Karl

I like Tech. It's great and if I could do things all over again I would still pick to be a Red Raider. I bleed red and black.

Brad

A phrase present in our mind all the time - GET YOUR GUNS UP!

Christina

All in all Texas Tech is an amazing university that seems to continue to grow. I am very happy with my decision to come here. Tech is incredible and has helped me to really, not only receive an amazing education and also give me a leap forward in my educational and career aspirations, but also grow, mature and laugh just a little bit more. It's true at Tech From Here, It's Possible.
