It is a smaller school so that way you are able to have more 1 on 1 time with your professors and you can walk anywhere on campus and still get the class on time. There are plenty on events to be involved in and you will also meet some pretty cool people here at Texas Wesleyan!

Smaller. Smarter. These two words are a true description of the school. The school offers merit scholarships of up to $22,000 a year. The small class sizes ensure easy access to the professors which then translates to student success. The school is very intentional about career services upon graduation.

Madison - 08/05/2022

The school is a part of my community. They are partnered with my high school I got to see the campus and experience the different activities they have on campus. It is a small school, but everything you need is easily available. It is really close to home, so I feel real comfortable about being in a place with new people. Its really easy to communicate with different staff and faculty via email or in person, so that was awesome when I needed to get in touch with people.

Mackenzie - 07/01/2022

During my time at Texas Wesleyan, I rarely felt supported. Being an out-of-state student it was important for me to feel like I had people to that I could go to. At first, it seemed as if everyone on the staff would be a good resource to navigate my first year. However, as the semester went on it felt as if they cared less and less. Student life is pretty nonexisting as was the support for any other teams aside from football and men's basketball. It was hard to keep up with campus and current events bc of the lack of communication on campus. The absolute worst part of this university is the financial aid office I never left there feeling like I was taken care of and was ultimately the reason why I left the school.

  9. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

The one distinct thing I remember before attending this school is that everyone praised how "approachable" the teachers are. However, most of the teachers are impossible to get ahold of or are not willing to meet with you to discuss topics in the class. Texas Wesleyan is an OK school if you just want to get your education and not be bothered, but if you want to live the college experience; and go to sporting events, have school spirit, fratertity/sorority parties, etc, then Wesleyan is not for you.

Texas Wesleyan is about the students. They have a great motto in smaller is better. I feel that the smaller class sizes help students focus. It is easy for students to get lost, especially in college courses. Smaller classes make it easier for one on one relationships between professor and student.
