I just started in Saint Rose and I feel very comfortable here. People are nice, professors and staff greet you when passing by. I feel safe whenever I go out. Food is amazing and the classes are just perfect for me. Plus there's a lot to do around here.

The College of Saint Rose's motto is "Home." I think this is a perfect motto for the school because it has become my home. My home at Saint Rose is a place that I feel comfortable with myself, the campus, and the community around me. Here, I am able to further my education with a happy heart, and also help out my community. I love that Saint Rose focuses on community service, because it is something that I am passionate about. As the school helps me, I help the school and community around me, and have learned the value of life from being there. From the positivity, and the feeling of being welcomed shown throughout campus, students have an easy time finding out who they are and what The College of Saint Rose means to them. I hope that all future students gain a love for this school, and also find a home here, as I have.

Saint Rose is a college for specific personalities. At times one doesn't feel like the person that the professors want there. It is a college that revolves around music and basketball. the Music Ed program is based on classical music and not modern pop or r&b music. There is a gap in the students that ranges form NYC to other smaller unknown towns. Although during "Reach Out Saint Rose" everyone comes together. It is a small enough school to feel like there is a group for everyone but at the same time it is big enough that if there is an issue with one person you don't have to interact with them.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

The College of Saint Rose has numerous opportunities available for students who put themselves out there. The class sizes are really small and the professors truly seem to care about students. In my experience professors have been really good about meeting up with students to address concerns, even outside of their normal office hours. The college itself is also small, which makes for getting around really easy too. Albany has lots of cute little shops, but you do normally have to wait for the warmer months for any of the big events.

Saint Rose is not worth what they are asking, but if you are looking for the perfect environment, very friendly and helpful staff, and a diverse crowd of people, you have found the right college. There is someone for everyone (As liberal as we are, there is a literal fascist on campus for example) and there are plenty of things to do, even if you don't have money. Teachers are all understanding and want their students to succeed. I am glad I chose Saint Rose for my freshman year. But for some, I do not recommend Saint Rose, as our president is continually cutting programs without valid reason, to the anger and dismay of many students and staff. Definitely make sure they have your major and make sure you get plenty of aid. And don't go to Brubacher Hall; big mistake.

St. Rose is a school that I have come to appreciate because of its diversity. (And I mean actual diversity not just two people of color at a PWI) I wish the classes were more challenging though, sometimes I feel like my classes are too easy. Idovtvthjnm I'd ever transfer out of st rose.

It's a good school to go to. The atmosphere is great. The only issues are some of the staff are unpleasant and the tuition is ridiculously high and often fluctuates without warning which is a huge problem. A student could literally be like 2 grand in debt and then the next time they check their account they are 6 grand in debt and the cost of attendance breakdown doesn't make it simple for someone to understand why they owe that amount.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

For those thinking about attending, please read carefully. I would entice you to do your research well before making a decision. In my opinion, after attending for two years and then transferring, I did not feel as though the school provided a value education. Meaning the cost was high for the instruction and education that I took away. Check the school academic ratings, this is very important to graduate schools and employers especially if you don't plan to stay in the area after college. The school is primarily for those that want to become teachers and for that I would say it is expensive. If you have money to waste and want to become a school teacher one day this could be the place for you. Further, the school is nestled in the middle of a small city where students can get attacked, robbed, hit by a car, or even worse...just check the news over the past several years. It is even rated very unstable financially. Worst and Best Part: Don't live on campus if you do go since they are strict...I am sure you had more freedom at home. The best part for me, which I would not trade was the friends I made. Most of all I wish you good luck it is a big decision. I just wanted to provide my opinion, as I wish someone did for me. There are many options available, hopefully you choose the most valuable in the long-run.

What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

WE have an amazing Mock trial team, and really interactive professors.

What kind of person should not attend this school?

Don't go the Saint Rose if you want a College experience straight out of the movies. There is no Greek life, there are no Project X parties, there is no Foot Ball.

What kind of person should attend this school?

A student who is looking for one on one interaction with their teachers. Maybe you went to a small high school like myself or maybe you high school was too large and you found that you couldn't do well in that setting.

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

College sort of drops you off on your head and makes you find your way on your own. I wish someone had told me how to better plan my schedule for the rest of the year that would keep me on track. I wish I knew more about the Clubs and interest groups on campus so that could find peers interested in the same things i was earlier. I wish i Was told about the counseling center so that i would know where to go when everything was beginning to feel like a little too much.

Describe the students at your school.

Although I still have two more weeks until I am officially a student at The College Of Saint Rose, I have visited a numbe of times, and judging my orientation, I can justify that just about everyone in my class is friendly, involved, and determined.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Relax. Everything will fall into place, all your paperwork will shuffle in when needed, and you will be ok.

What kind of person should not attend this school?

Someone who isn't hardworking, and someone with no strive or passion.
