The college of Westchester is a great place to go for small class sizes, a diverse and close knit community, and resources that provide you with the ability to gain internships and careers quickly after graduation. The College also offers accelerated programs to every student so you graduate more than what is considered "on time." I love this college because they have done nothing but try to offer me the resources I need, provide information that I need, and access to people, professors, and professionals that want to see me succeed and find what I want for my career.
I love that professors are able to interact with students one on one. They are always available. They make sure you understand everything and if you don’t they’ll go over it and won’t go ahead leaving you behind to figure it out on your own. Their support is amazing. The staff is friendly. flexible schedule for students that work day time. There are evening classes and even online courses.
The school was great until the second semester. The professor that taught my intended degree class was impatient and would not accept work even if it was on time. He would be easily offended and you could never have a conversation with him. I did meet a few good people I talk to regularly. The whole school faculty and departments are out of whack and never communicate with each other so everything is all over the place. The admissions department is the only one that knows what they are doing. I am just happy that the nightmare is done and my graduation date is June 1st, 2017. I am transferring to another college that is more recognized and has an insane amount of connections.
The emotional and academic support exceed other places I have visited. The size of the college is not very appealing from the exterior perspective but the size of the counselor's hearts will attract any interested person to register there for continuing education.
