The University of Montana-Western Top Questions

What's unique about your campus?

Danielle

The University of Montana-Western is a very small university, with approximately 2500 students. Because of the small school size, class sizes were kept to usually under 20 students. This allowed for one-on-one time with the professor and gave the student ample opportunities to learn, ask questions, and fully understand what was being taught. It was not uncommon to have your professor know your name, where you were from, and what your major was. I witnessed that this type of intimate learning environment was extremely successful in helping students achieve their academic goals.

The block system and the smaller classroom size, more individualized attention for each student

The flexability. At my college I love the fact that I am able to take online or hybrid classes that fit into my crazy work and family schedule.

The thing i like best about my school is that they have a thing called block schedualing. In this program you take one class for three hours a day for 18 days. Once that class is over you get 4 days off and start the next class. i like this alot because i feel it is easier to focus on one class then trying to juggle 4 or 5 at a time. I also like it because then you only go to school for 3 hours a day, which leaves time in the day for working or lots of homework.

The best thing about Montana Western is that all the teachers are very willing to take the extra time to help out a student if they are in need of that extra help in order to succeed in that class or other classes. The teachers are very personal and want to take the time to get to know the students and help them on their journey to succeed not only in school but also in life.

The help that is available at almost all times and the small town aspect of the college. Your professors know you by name and are always willing to help you learn and understand.

I think the best thing about my school is it is relatively small (1700 students) but very tough and everyone is extremely helpful while pushing you to do your best in class.
